Icarus
Ah, trigonometry - a good branch of mathematics. The mnemonic we had in high school was Oscar Had Another Helping Of Apples, provided you went in the order of sine, cosine and tangent. We managed to change it a little bit for humourous effects: Oscar Had Another Hit Of Acid. You may as well get used to radicals - they come up all over the place in calculus. Anytime I have a nightmare Trig, Calc, and Math Professors are involved. I hated math, but thats the way it works in college. When I finished high school, I was damn happy I was dont. Calc raped me my senior year and trig did me dirty my junior year. I thought I would have been out of the woods when I graduated but no...college was worse. I remember trying to forget everything that summer then, when classes were assigned in college, I sh*t bricks because i had wiped my mind clean of math. swolo yaggins
bump! I need help with Partial Fraction Decomposition; (2x^2 - x - 3) / [(x + 2)(x + 1)^2] the answer i get matches up with the answer my ti-83 gives me, but not with the answer the teacher put on the review sheet, which makes me wonder that i could've plugged in the numbers wrong. SCOTT WHERE ARE YOU (2x^2 - x - 3) / [(x + 2)(x + 1)^2] = A/(x+2) + B/(x+1) + C/(x+1)^2 (2x^2 - x - 3) = A(x+1)^3 + B(x+2)(x+1)^2 + C(x+1)(x+2) I just took a calculus exam today, so that's as far as I'll get you Should be fairly simple from there though, just expand out the right side and you can figure out A, B, and C from there. Picolini
Ahhhh, math. Last class I took was trig and that was 2 semesters ago. I have physics, while it isn't math, has lots of formulas. I can't wait! Tried calc and had to drop it, didn't have enough trig knowledge.

This was my second time taking it and I'm not entirely sure I did well enough on the final to pass the class even though I only needed a 45. It's a load of crap, voodoo math it is. Well, all the integrals are, but I can do stuff like partial fractions and series and sequences to some extent.
