Sockeh
You know on the other GTAs if you flew out long enough you'd eventually go "DOONK" against an invisible wall? Well does that happen on IV? You seem to be able to just keep going. Thanks.
.Up&Coming.
The map has to end. It's just like the old games. You eventually hit a wall, but the game generates some kind of motion in the water to make it look like you're still traveling. If I can recall, it did that in San Andreas, too. (This is for in a boat...As for flying, well, I never flew out that far. )
Kreepman
Nah. You keep on going. If you go far enough, you fall off your disk
Sockeh
We were just driving in a boat for about ten minutes ( ) and it took just as long to get back as it did when we were driving out.. So maybe it just take ages and ages? I just wanted to hear the weird doonking noise

.Up&Coming.
I bet the game keeps track of the amount of time you were driving/flying so that it seemed realistic when you came back. Obviously, it has to end. But, it would suck if you got stuck out there only being able to swim if, say, your boat blew up or your heli crashed. You wouldn't even be able to drown yourself. Thats one of the things i always get worried about, haha. Ten minutes of boating would take 20 minutes of swimming, or more!

iceman654
It's never ending just like San Andreas, but really what the game does is it just creates the illusion that's it's infinite but really what happens is at a certain point the game begins to draw back whats in front of you. So basically you aren't moving forward but rather whats behind you is constantly moving backwards so you're unable to reach the games physical boundaries. However this makes it seem as though you're "moving" further and further forward. But like I said, Liberty City is actually just moving further away from you, you aren't moving further away from "it". SnoopyDoggy
What? None of the previous GTAs I played had any walls. Whenever you went out really far you would find yourself swimming towards the shore, that you had left... Just like in the Bermuda Triangle Maybe it was only on Xbox, and PS couldn't handle generating a Bermuda Triangle Effect lol jk Don't know about this one yet though.... This...actually happened to me. I made the boat engine keep it moving, while I just got out and walked around (I got one of the big boats), and I stayed out there for like a whole day and night. I decided to use the "Spawn car" cheat, and I stopped my boat, and jumped on the car I made. I then shot the boat with a rocket launcher just out of boredom. Then the car sank, and I was stuck there swimming out in the middle of the ocean..... That sucked ass.

In Vice City(all versions) you'd hit a wall someways out and I believe GTAIII was the same it wasn't until SA that they brought in the repeating ocean trick.
