Things are not always black&white. Tony in fact loves the game, but resents some obvious shortcomings. So what, he's not allowed to make some comments? It's foolish to think everyone should by default like everything about the game. If gamers criticize it, it can only become better. . Hearing the same thing repeated gets old. I want planes. When I see some discussion about something that might interest me, I join and try to find my way through it with some arguments. If I see the topic is ridiculous, then I make some snappy comment and leave. In those kind of threads people mostly ignore you if you actually try to make some sense (Like the "LC is 70% bigger then SA map" thread). From those 10 pages you stated at least 5 are filed with people saying to the OT to f*ck off or to go any play SA/SR2 or whatever. This is a discussion forum and people will discuss. After you complete it.. there isnt much to do except run around the city and shoot people like any other gta game. So that isnt that much of a downfall. I do hope, for the next proper titles, Rockstar step out of thier comfort zone and give us something completely new and unexpeted. But also, The fact that it was pretty easy didn't really sway me at all. For me, the missions are only a fraction of the whole GTA package. I spent a few minutes of game time on each thing you mentioned in San Andreas. It wasn't fun. Maybe nobody finds the game fun because they aren't playing it! Get away from complaining on the forums and enjoy your game. So if those features of San Andreas are boring and useless why do people still play it? I actually found the GTA's in general start to get very easy to complete when SA came out, and after that every gta i ever played was just too easy to complete. Maybe as a player were all getting too good at these games. I watched a video of some guy doing crazy ass stunts in gta so that kinda sparked a little interest for me to keep playing gta. I find it funny people say the game sucks for things that made SA great.. i dont want to play a SA clone nore do i want to play VC clone. garywobby Posted July 17, 2008 Share Posted July 17, 2008 I can agree with both sides of this argument, I do love this game and I really couldn't give a f*ck about character customization, planes, weight lifting, eating, etc BUT I also couldn't really give a f*ck about taking friends out to get perks. What I want from GTA IV is a better reward for collecting all the pigeons (Weapons, like the others), more races, rampages and things like the PCJ playground from VC, the dirt bike tracks and the chopper checkpoints. More mini-games to do would be great BUT I think this is more a business move from R*, they can make much more money from us fans by including all this stuff in DLC and i'd bet my girlfriend and my grandma on it that it'll be coming soon to both consoles. I agree that some people should just be quiet and play the game ( GTA IV ) But it was those little things like eating going to bars flying owning property that really brought GTA to life, Those little things almost every person i was hoping for. I mean at least a mansion! how many times in the past did you download those really nice looking cars or change the garage in san fierro ( Sorry if that is spelt wrong ) to change it into a garage with some very nice graphical cars in it.. all im saying is that a very large majority of people like Liberty city the best. And just all that they could've put into it and didnt is a tad bit upsetting now dont get me wrong im not hurping on the game or nothing im STATING the facts here people. we play GTA to reach up do the things we cant normally do. such as own a big mansion and have a million dollars in our pixelated pockets ( lol ) or parachute down from a jet. or own you're own automobile company and go mod that peice of sh*t car into a very beautiful jump machine. Eating was not the best feature but i still loved it because #1 it added more things to it. Also another big dissapointment was kinda that their wasnt any gang? or any gang territory ( but dont harp on me this is just my opinion ) usually in accordance you went from some big low life a wise guy into being a crime boss. i mean the whole time in GTA IV you're taking orders and taking orders, when on the other ones they had more of a morale. let me list a few examples on GTA VCS although you were taking orders their was a reason for it at times and most of the times when taking orders they were orders from some big hotshot celebraty or you're overall business partners. on LCS you never really reached that point but you got made and you got a very nice house on the third island which is just a bewt. on San Andreas towards the end you really dont do any orders or jobs for anyone. lol theirs a lot more i want to say but i just cant think of it right now lol. so ill just end it with that. Don't do it on a forum that's reputable for trolling threads that criticize the said game for lack of promised game mechanics, into obscurity. The AI loops key frame animations while holding coffee cups, and grocery bags, and repeat the same dialog- again. The shaders and physics don't compensate for overall lack of mechanics. I know that's what New York is like but this game has too much darkness. The mission in the club where you have to shoot the men and go after the other, I couldn't see the exit for a number of attemps because it was too dark in there. Hmmm there is a very easy and simple sollutuion for this. TURN THE DAMN BRIGHTNESS UP!. this is really it. also just adjust your TV so that it perfectly matches your proffered brightness. my only complaints are the removal of things that didnt need to be removed. customization and smaller planes. could have still been added, as well as a better use of the fire escapes, and you cant climb telephone poles as told in an early hands off presentation at E3. also, i would have liked more interiors and itneraction. in game. other than that, good game, Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's exactly the same psychological principle, as when you see a character on the TV repeatedly trying to resuscitate a person who is obviously not going to wake up.
