Just because you're Australian doesn't mean you shouldn't look up what the importance of July 4 in America is.

Just because you're American doesn't mean you should expect people to know your own history when you don't get taught anyone else's.

It's just that July 4th is a date often brought up in history and literature, and even a high schooler in Europe should think that July 4th, 1776 rings a few bells. If someone mentions a date that seems even vaguely important, I'll look it up to check if it's relevant.

 

And I would like some proof that those videos are actually conclusive proof that American schoolchildren don't know where they live.

Those that dont know what the significance of July 4 is shouldnt be required to look it up to understand it. I found this rather funny actually, and the whole statement is a piss take on the "American Dream" the notion that the US is the land of the free and unlimited opportunity, when in fact it is an arrogant conceited country that capitalises on the naiveté of both the lesser class and immigrants by forcing them to a life of servitude to capitalist greed.

 

Its funny who America cries freedom, when its one of the most heavily policed countries in the world. Big Brother isnt a reality TV show, its a concept from the book 1984 written by Orson Wells, and whether the US likes it or not, they are now living that concept through things such as the Patriot Act and other post 9/11 legislation that strips all the freedoms and rights they hold so dear in favour of control and influence through fear and misconception by the government.

 

I love the freedoms my country Australia provides ... far more a land of the free than the US is now.

I'm working to get 100% At the moment, and I was getting the "Flying Rats" on the Statue of Happiness. So I decided, to take a closer look at the Statue, and I noticed that 3 or 4 sentence worth of text was written on her tablet, It was quite hard to make out, cause I was fliying my chopper, and moving the camera around, at the same time to get a good angle to see it. All I could see was the words"Your Intellgent" or something like that. But there was some other words, that I couldn't make out.

i work in a logistics warehouse with a bunch of mexicans who don't know a lick of english. and in all honesty they r really fun to work around. we get a kick out of trying to tell each other to do something because we can't understand a damn thing the other is saying. so it usually comes down to about 10 minutes of ridiculous looking sign language to get the point across lol. they work as hard as anyone else, and they r always smiling. plus they invited me to a whole fiesta deal just this weekend and it was the only party i've ever been to where the beer didn't eventually run out.
