GTA IV is a huge dissapointment

I am a huge fan of GTA i own all of them (except the London add-on) and i believe that GTA IV is the best one to date.

 

The story is deep, interesting and make you want to play it, rather than San Andreas which the only reason you played the missions was to unlock the islands cause while they were big but you couldn't do much till you done missions that were boring and buggy. i played GTA IV's story cause i wanted to find out about what happens, i mean you do unlock certain things but even though the islands are much smaller they are packed with so much detail in every aspect. Police check-points, people fixing their cars, the new police system and the game has detail such as the engine dying, cars not blowing up when they flip, and there are plenty more in fact to many to mention here.

 

GTA IV is missing certain things that SA had and saints row (a crude GTA clone that while rough had some very interesting ideas that GTA IV has borrowed some of) had, such as a detailed clothes system, car customization, and a lot of general things that added nothing to the game but that could be used when bored such as the fork lifts and trucks, but the real question is what do you lose when you get rid of them and the answer is not much especially seeing that GTA IV is so much more detailed in aspects and fun than ever before.

 

I have completed GTA IV and i loved every minute of it (well apart from the missions that !I! messed up) and i think that it could be improved, such as a checkpoint system in missions as you can easily restart them but you still have to drive over all the islands. But that is the only major problem i have come across the other make no real dent on the game and i still love it more than any other GTA i have played. i mean somethings could be added such as a fuel consumption to add to the fun of a police chase maybe even fuel leaks followed by the omg someone lit the trail etc. and convertibles that you can open and close but as stated earlier these are minor issues when the quality of the main game is 10/10

 

So all i have to say is bring on the DLC and then bring on GTA V i cant wait to see what they do next.

As has been said, its alot like GTA3 in which they had to take a gamble as to what to do, if every last GTA was just another vice city with more haircuts/guns/double enders/cars/ways to get fat, then itd get tedious pretty quick.

 

GTA4 had id say the best storyline, san andreas i just played lmao i had little to no clue how the hell the stuff happened, but it was too vague and i got bored in the end.

 

Plus, GTA4's multiplayer wipes the floor with anything SA could produce

 

GTA4 of course has some major missing pieces, but i could bet my life's savings R* are scouring forums like this to see major faults, and the next GTA could be just like the transition from gta3 to vice city.

 

Plus the 2 confirmed DLC will be less likely to contain more missions, as the storyline will be pretty much worn out, it will probably enough weapons, perhaps a decent chopper, and some more side-game kind of things. Id much rather they got the plot right and gave me a decent game to play through, rather than a mediocre plot with some fun side stuff, because the side stuff would wear off just as quick

 

In short, GTA4 kicks ass, period
