SA had way more sh*t to do then just drive around at the end. It felt like you could do anything to me. If you wanted to go gamble at a casino (or blow the hell out of it) you could, if you wanted to go gangbanging around your neighborhood you could, if you wanted to go into the middle of the desert on a modded car just to have fun you could. Trust me SA had much better stuff to do after the game was over, eventually stuff did get boring but not as fast as GTA IV is becoming for me. A satirization is supposed to blow things into the extreme. Ex. The writers weren't trying to create a dead on gun club member, but a satirization of one. Go read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Rockstar focused on the realistic things more than the unrealistic things in GTA IV , GTA SA was unrealistic game , can you enter a military base in the real life ? can you steal F-16 plane easily in the real life ? ....etc . The people are divided into two sections : - the first : The people who prefer the realistic things . you can do approximately all realistic things in the real life , you live in a new LC where the city has became " a live breathing city " . you can feel the difference between the morning , the afternoon and the night . the game has dynamic lighting and the textures have became simulating the real life instead of the cartoony style in the previous GTA games . I have finished GTA IV , and I am still playing it for 5 hours per a day at least . I really feel like someone who lives in NY City , I have fun when I stand at the coast and watching the sea which has became simulating the real life , you can see the sun's reflects on it and the buildings' reflects . I have fun when I stand on high building and watching the distance , you can see the distance easily , in GTA SA when you watching the buildings in far distance , you can't see them . in GTA IV you can drive without fearing from the stupid drivers , if you remember in GTA SA when you drive on a highway , the game is suffering from Frame Rate issues . so , while you drive the car , the people stop their car suddenly , then you crash into them , and the POP-IN issues in GTA SA were stupid , the cars were appear suddenly . but in GTA IV all these things have been upgraded . Euphoria engine is making the game a real life , the animations are the best , I have fun when I see people walking or falling , their bodies and NIKo's body are interacting with the environment .. I usually try to shoot them to see different animations every time . I can't describe this engine . but GTA IV is a real life more than a video game . The second : The people who prefer the unrealistic things . Most of the people prefer the realistic things . THIS aint a dig at you, but wtf why do people want GTA to be realistic , ITS A GAME, okay i like realistic football, or driving, or first person shooters games, but this is gta and the people who liked this game liked it for the fact it was unrealistic and you could kill thousands of people without spending 25years in prison, or fly around wid jetpacks i cant be arsed listing anymore.. all im saying is GTA got so famous and 9/10 of the people who play games liked it because of the fun and how unrealistic it was.. unlike pro evolution and call of duty 4 or 3 with got so popular for how realistic they were.. and why do i wanna stand and watch the sea, and look at buildings and think WOW look how real they are, WTF, i cant belive ppl would do this... i wanna be entertained by killing people in how many ways i can, or do some crazy stuff not watch the fu*king sea.. AND most of the people do not like the realistic things in gta because when gta 3 , vice city and sa came out hardly any people questioned how good these games were compared to how many people are questioning how good gta iv is .. but personally i dont think this game is sh*t, my view on this game is that it should be alot better the gameplay length should be longer, and it should be alot more fun. I can see myself eventually getting bored in a month or so. However, there are many great aspects of this game that differ from SA that are a plus. As someone said earlier, we'd all complain like f*ck if this was just SA in Liberty City. Rockstar wanted to be very realistic with this game which is great. The realism is a unique aspect of this game. I guarantee this latest series of GTA will only get better and better; larger areas, even greater graphics, more guns etc In the mean time I'll continue to enjoy GTA 4 until I am bored. The airplanes were a pain and driving school was worse. Gambling was fun for a few hours then it was boring. The only reason I played SA so long was because of mods and GTA SA MP. While even GTA IV does have some nice country side in spots. I miss the great long run of country side. But face the facts. That means the game catered to both audiences (cept for the fact she runs around and shoots ho's while i am tring desperately to get the car wash to work). We miss the optional things that you can do... like get a big rig and jack knife it into traffic or tow luggage around the airport into the city streets and into the park... or land a harrier jet ontop of a building. or grab a dune buggy or quad and do some dunes... or have your car in a garage or collect cars in a garage... hmmmm maybe i'll go reinstall SA and find that batman car mod again the only reason why we got bored was cuz we played it for 2+ years and was hoping for new things to explore... but welp... most of everything we see you cant do jack with. oh well. Just like they did in San Andreas. But I have San andreas And not doubt its a great game. But from what I played with GTA IV and with the bugs in it... it was and good game. tylenol800 Posted May 20, 2008 Share Posted May 20, 2008 (edited) please guys dont be so quick to talk negative, and people the delay of the game wasnt due to cutting corners or rushing they started making the game exclusively for xbox 360. They got their hands on the 360 first, or developer kits if anyone wants to get technical, and got a headstart on the 360 version. Sony didnt want the game to be exclusively on xbox because first they had contracts with Rstar but not only that if it was exclusively on xbox it would've destroyed the ps3 with sales. I dont know if its true but i think its pretty damn close but why the hell did rockstar release table tennis? because it used the real world physics engine and they were pretty much testing to see if it worked and it did. Don't blame rockstar for cutting corners blame the the sony version. They had to port it to the ps3 witch made the game crash and freeze and they had to start working out the glitches, and since sony didnt want the xbox version that was already done on october 16 to be released first they told rockstar to delay both until they can be released together. search it. oh and all of the real GTA fans should know that Rockstar isnt going to let us down with the DLC it may only add 10 hours of storyline game-play..... but thats only storyline game-play they may add all kinds of sh*t to do unrelated to the story like adding guns and vehicles like the monster truck and all sorts of other stuff....oh and please know that this is the rebirth of GTA on nexgen consoles so they started it kinda like GTA3.....In GTA 3 you werent able to do as much as in SA right? well think that concept but in better graphics and a nexgen console and you have GTAIV! and then think 2 episodic DLC? just like GTA3s "sequels" GTAVC and GTASA i dont know if im on to something but....i think i am. oh and sorry for the errors im just typing my mind. So what if theres internet theres nothing to do on it, ive got real internet ..WOW.. i must admit the phone is good and the driving is class. but having these friends and girlfriends is pointless theres nothing do with them apart from go eat or see a repeated comedy show and play sh*tty minigames, the game length is limited to about 1month tops..without the cheats San andreas was a F***king classsic, the characters, the storyline,the voices, AND THE CHEATS, once you did the storyline you could play this game for months, you could get jet packs fly around and start killing hundreds, jump about a mile in the air on foot and bicycle, and punch people and send them miles in the air, get chases off people on peds, get the whole of the city to start chasing you, flying cars in the air, drive on water, this game was endless.. you could control your character from how fat or muscley he is, how long he can run and hold his breath and even pimp out you car... this is/was the next level of gaming which sadly doesnt look like there is gonna be another to compare it to.. GTA IV,,, OMG, once you complete the storyline,, there is literally nothing to do unless you want to ring your friends and go to a show what youve alredy seen about 15times, the cheats are pointless you can regain health, ammo which spoils the game completly ,these are the cheats no1 uses, unless the whole city is chasing you which aint gnna happen on this game, you cant even ride bicycles or go to the gym, it seems like they spent about 2 years removing everything gta was about.... FUN....!!!! and creating a game what you can only play for about 2weeks... wheres the fun in that... the CHEATS are pointless i cant belive they have ruined the best game in history... GTA IV is a HUGE dissapoinment... Dont get me wrong the missions are good but theres nothing fun about this game... this game has been ruined.. I was expecting to be able to go in most shops and buildings, buy watches, new haircuts, buy bicycles, buy things to put in my house, AND you cant even buy a house WTF, kit up my car and i was expecting more guns, more cars, more everything, whats the point in releasing a game whats not as good as the last one, they must of known what they were releasing so why didnt they take another 2months to create the extra things we all want.. the little things what are missing from the game are the things what made the f**king game..
