CJ either needed the money to just get back on his feet or it was the money he had to pay The Truth becouse Truth supplied weed for Tenpenny and he asked Carl to pay off The Truth... And yes, by this point of the game, CJ is in desperate need of money to get back on his feet and somehow get back to Los Santos, to bring his gang back. And yeah, I wouldn't want CJ and Catalina to be together. But, it was cool that CJ actually had a girlfriend for the storyline, since the others are not needed for 100%. Carl was not guilty for cheating her and they broke up because of Catalina.She was bad tempered and she betrayed Claude too. It would have been better if CJ would have been caught by Catalina cheating on her with one of his girlfriends or something but not the way it happened in the game.
