atheistsw Posted May 17, 2008 Share Posted May 17, 2008 (edited) Haha, that's funny you made a list, but yeah, it sucks, especially in race mode, I don't think it should penalise you for sore losers and the likes, like if you start a race with 16 people the final money rewards should reflect that, and they should just get a DNF or something, you should still get something for 6th. Xamot Posted May 17, 2008 Share Posted May 17, 2008 race mode should have people put down a deposit that represents the prize pool. if you quit out with a substantial distance behind the pack then your deposit should be thrown in the cash pool and the race should still count the same total number of players. Or say, NOOSE and nobody is doing anything right. Or Bomb Da Base II, if people keep abandoning you (heli, cars, etc) there's no point in sticking around. Whilst there are a lot of idiots who do spit the dummy when they're getting nailed on deathmatch, or when they flip their car over the side of a bridge in race mode, there's probably an equal amount who quit because of factors outside of their control. Their connection could've dropped, their system could've stalled, power cut, someone at the door, somebody on the phone, called away from the machine by a parent, partner, child, something in the oven burning etc.. That aside, I'm all for naming and shaming the pricks who deliberately try and ruin team games and co-op for other people, or spam the voice chat with pathetic insults and racism. I had this one lad the other day who I was playing bomb the base II with go after me at the start rather than the van. I took the van out, delivered it to the safehouse whilst waiting ages for him to get back to the checkpoint. He managed to lose 2 of his 3 lifes in the process, god only knows how as he was doing f*ck all that should get him killed, before finally deciding to make it over. The downside is the lad gets into the pilot seat of the chopper and manages to crash into a skyscraper, loosing his last life and ending the game. Words fail me. Exactly. Also tit-for-tat griefing. Someone accidentally nudges you with a car - it happens a lot. You then don't like that person as much, and so on and so forth. Same with this list. Someone may nudge you with a car, and in your mind that may trigger a great hatred. Also, having people who drop out of games quite often on a list is fairly implausible. You can hardly check every person just to see if who you're playing with may or may not leave/kill you/etc. It should be short enough to find people easily. And alphabetized. Just now had a NOOSE game and all he did was grenade me and the others and petrovic and try to run us over and crash choppers on us and EVERYTHING he could. Grrr. I think the real problem here is lack of instructions for any of these modes and no real way to practice. Maybe they can fix the race money in a patch, or so we can hope.
