Lt. Dan
On several websites, I've heard that the old, abandoned mansion in northern Alderney that appears in some missions is Salvatore's, but run down. IMO this is bullcrap. It looks nothing like Sal's mansion. First of all it is brown instead of grey, and the original mansion didn't have as many floors. What could make people think this is Sal's mansion?

The Invisible Lines
Agree with the OP - this is NOT Salvie's place. That was a stupid rumor started by people who a) didn't know what they were talking about, and b) let wishful thinking get the better of them. vincestick
what is salvatore's mansion Salvatore is an important caractere in GTA III and the boss of italian mafia. Don't forget GTA LCS Anyway, yeah, i would have to agree with the previous post that this is in fact a dumb rumor. Looking back at GTA III and LCS, compare that with this old mansion-type house and you'll notice that it isn't the same thing (Dee dee dee). have you also noticed that Francis Intl. Airport is on the right side of the city now, when it was on the left side of the city in GTA III and LCS?
Jerzeyboi
Are there ANY places in LC that are still EXACTLY the same or simply aged? Looking at the cars, I am sure its only a 10 year difference or so.
Mr. Someguy
I personally think this isn't the same liberty city as the past. It's either: 1. Another part of it, off the coast of mainland liberty city. 2. A new version of it (the old one never existed). Perhaps the old Francis International was closed down, and a new one opened up in Dukes.

Perhaps the old Francis International was closed down, and a new one opened up in Dukes. This is a completely different Liberty City. It wouldn't make sense to have some new islands suddenly appear out of nowhere, not to mention just about everything (with the exception of the city itself and the airport) is named after its New York counterpart. Plus all of the buildings and streets are different, the overall layout is different, the landscape is different, etc. Some people need to face it: this LC has nothing to do with the past LC. Dr Harry
well it defiantly reminded me of Sal's mansion, but it's far from a spitting image (not to mention it's in the wrong area) I'd say it's defiantly a reference, but not supposed to really BE his mansion know what I mean? Frozen_Arrow
I think people believe it's Sal's mansion because it sort of has the same dirt pathway on a cliff near the ocean. It's probably a reference to Sal's mansion because the location is sort of similar, but the building itself is way off.

IMO this is bullcrap. It looks nothing like Sal's mansion. First of all it is brown instead of grey, and the original mansion didn't have as many floors. What could make people think this is Sal's mansion? Yes. I agree 100%. It looks nothing like Sal's place. It's just that the previewers was high or something. The only resemblence I see is the path that leads to the old mansion. I mean, ffs, this old mansion in GTA IV is a lot bigger, and the format of the place is nothing like the one in GTA III. So can that even be called an easter egg? Maybe not.

Well...considering Liberty City is still Liberty City..yet it looks completely different in every shape and form...why couldn't Sals mansion look absolutely different but still be called Sal's Mansion? And don't say that this isn't the same Liberty City. Because it is. Lazlow still exists. It's the same Liberty City. Just looks different.

No. Even Rockstar said they are starting over a new continuity. Lazlow is in because he is a favorite, and the references to the previous games are obscure and nods to the fans. So you're telling me that in seven years several new islands popped up out of nowhere and the built a gigantic city on those islands, and populate them and support a sustained economy? All in seven years? Riiiiiight. Edited May 19, 2008 by Lt. Dan
kraft7
Lazlow is in because he plays a major part in creating the radio stations in the game. like Lt. Kreepman
I guess its a small, microscopic reference to Sal's Mansion.? [The Garages Remind me of Sal's Mansion] Thats what I think
GTA Life
Yeah when I went to that house, which is NOT a mansion at all. All it is, is a normal house with a few stories. I was kind of bummed out when I looked for it and couldnt find it. And yes this Liberty is obviosuly a remake version to the past one. Alot of older sections are in it still actually. But they took out most of old Liberty or changed it.
chrislawrance
This is still liberty city by name but not by nature. Its the same as gta3 was gta1s liberty city just made alot bigger and better. Also if u turn the map upside down then isnt the airport on the left?

Oh my f*cking God THE CONTINUITY OF GTA 3, VICE CITY, SAN ANDREAS AND THE PSP TITLES IS OVERRR! CAPUT! ZIP! NADA! NO MORE! You guys are looking waaayyy too much into this. Those characters (besides Lazlow and Marvin Trill, and some other obscure characters that only fans would know) DO NOT EXIST IN THIS CONTINUITY. NEITHER DO THE CITIES AS WE ONCE KNEW THEM. Apologies for caps, had to get my point across.

Then i saw the (building) and t reminded me of the builder guys trying to knock down casper's house
