mastermind01
The damage to vehicles in gta is stunning on par with burnout crash damage. I love how where and how hard you hit things influences the damage too. What did you guys think of this, and would you be dissapointed if they brought the old style of damage back. EMoney120
Its nice, but i would really like to see tires fly off, like in Driv3r and Driver: Parallel Lines.
TheSamurai Hobo
Nah, I'd HATE if they brought the old system back.. you can treat these cars like a dirty whore * *
dragonrock
I love it and its better than most games, but some of the materials on the front of the car don't act like the ones in real life. But its a videogame and I release that.

Raven_Nytez
I was mucking about on an NRG900. I knocked over a flaming barrel, backpeddled & 180'd so the rear tyre went into the fire, then the rear tyre caught fire & I rode away, but then the tyre blew out few seconds later. Just a little something that made me go, "Woah, nice touch!"
GTA3Freak-2001
I don't see why they would ever go back to the old damage system, I mean seriously go play San Andreas and see how archaic the damage is, ugh!
dragonrock
Remember when the fire went through the hood of the car? LAWL
YourNeighborhoodKiller
I think it's way better than Burnout's damage. IV's seems more intense. Burnout's just looks kind of fake. Try getting into a big truck, go full speed, and then smash into cars. Man thats fun.

dewan2000
I love it if you hit a person's care hard enough they die lol. Can tell because of the constant Honking of the horn and sometimes they floor it due to their feet on gas pedal.
BoredGTAFan
The vehicle damage is amazing. The tires bend in and stuff and you can make it so you can't drive it anymore, even if you don't damage to the point where it breaks down, can't wait to get this game
Darrel
It is surprisingly very good. You can tell they thought a lot about it
mac915
A couple of holy ah!t moments with me for car damage were: -A while ago, I was messing around and got 4 stars. I dropped some grenades to try to mess with the cops. On one grenade, I held it too long and the explosion just hit the back of my car. Not only was the back of the car pretty much dented in, I couldn't get the car over walking speed. -This morning I was trying to do the unique jumps. On one, my car went upside down and landed on a support beam on the hood of the car. When I righted the car, there was a dent, the exact shape of the support. Rock* really outdid themselves with this one.
visionist
The ONE thing that lets the damage system down is the bonnets (hoods to American gamers). They fly away almost immediately, not realistic at all. Many, many, many times I have had to slow down to relatch the bonnet. It gets very tedious. OOh look I ran over a ped at 5mph, bonnet say byebye!
Xamot
have you guys noticed that all the different cars have different "gas tank" regions? aka spots that go boom a lot of the cars, if shot above the left rear tire with 1 shotgun round, will light on fire. where as the police cars have to be shot around the rear license plate to get the same effect. i've experiemented with other cars and the side and location seems somewhat different depending on the model of car
BoredGTAFan
The only thing that isn't realistic with the car damage is the hood part. they do fly off pretty easily, it also would have been nice if there was a visible gas tank area, like there was on san andreas
Obese_Tony
Is it just me or does the moment of impact in some crashes (mostly frontal) seem kinda ... weird? Sometimes it feels like you're hitting a car's "phantom side", meaning that it feels as if you didnt collide with the car itself, but rather a invisible part of the car, yet it still reacts fully to the crash. I can't really explain. Its kinda like the crashes in True Crime New York city if you know what I mean. Make no mistake, I absolutely love the car damage system and think its the best one to date. Just sayin' is all.
BoredGTAFan
I see what your saying, although I've only played it once, sometimes when I crashed, it did seem as if the crash kinda didn't happen, but I still do like the damage system
MJND1990
Get the linerunner and crash into a car parked against a wall like 10 times. I did that to a minivan and flatened it like a pancake. literally!

Can tell because of the constant Honking of the horn and sometimes they floor it due to their feet on gas pedal. The first time I did it, it was an indirect death. For some reason he fell out of the car engulfed in flames.
