Thursday May 14th we'll celebrate 1 YEAR of TW TOPIC!

 

First update is the TW Fighters list. A few new names made it to the first section! Congrats guys!

Also: some new Recruits, some old/new Wanderers and some new useless names at the bottom.

I also updated the first page with the new list and without something else: no more griefer list (who cares about them? Not me).

What/Who brought u to TW topic: I said this before but for the record I'll say it again: GTA IV came out and after two weeks of DM madness (AAon and blips all) I had my eyes squared (to look at the mini map every nanosecond ) and my missus totally bored of the mode. She enjoyed more watching me roaming from turf to turf in a car with some other stranger (she found it funny ) so I switched to TW mode. Randoms wouldn't strategically play the mode, RL friends were PS3less so I thought I would try to find some other TW lovers in GTAF, better if they were around my age. That's how it started.

Free TW Comments: well, one year it's a lot. For me it's the longest I ever played a videogame. Thanks to all the great players I met in this topic, I had tons of great matches. I could never imagine that an online videogame experience coud be so rewarding in terms of fun, friendship and adrenaline. The evolution of style we all experienced in this mode made me really think how entertaining a MP mode can be. The forum part was entertaining as much as the gaming part. It doesn't really matter that I spent literally months on the forum. Sometimes I thought that I was a crazy addicted ol'man but after all it was all worth it.

You should be a rich man. I know one thing for sure, if this were a videogame in an archade, i would have spent hundreds of dollars playing. You own about 90% of that experience. the game itself is good, but you have taken a pretty good game and made it a great experience. Gracias Amigo!

When did u join TW topic: Hmm, can't fnd my first post, but I was on the "turf guest stars" list since June 11th 2008.

What/Who brought u to TW topic: Invites from my former teammates, the LYPS3. I began to like it pretty quick, because of the game settings (blips far/team ).

First TW topic match/tale u remember: I remember that I sucked, LOL. I tried to defend the turf in Algonquin south (near the highway/subway station), hided behind a dumpstr (my first try of defence ever). Minutes of waiting, I got bored, then finally somebody came and I was nervous like a schoolgirl and shot like everywhere around the enemy... which killed me with 2 shots then... BUMMER!

TW TALES (Friday May 8th)

 

1st TW - Bohan

Russians: RikoBegovic, Goonah (JG) + 2 -vs- Jamaicans: capitalraider (JG) + 3 (1LG)

Russians won 5111$-1514$.

I started this match only with randoms and I had a classic great TW moment.

I was coming out of mid turf and this random, fam001, started to fire at me all of his rockets from half way the road to the RPG respawn. He missed me each time. I had rockets too but I was waiting for the right moment to shoot mine. When he ran out of rockets I fire mine and instantly kill him, I run to his corpse and drop a L1 line hoping to be a good one... and it was: "I'm not in the mood for this"

These are the little classic moments that make me love this game!

Anyway, after this bit he kept coming back trying to have his payback... never happened. Scores: Riko 9/1/2★, Goonah 1/5/1, cap 1/0/1

 

2nd TW - North Alderney

Russians: RikoBegovic, Goonah + 2 -vs- Jamaicans: capitalraider , SCAR-FACE-99 +1

Russians won 4562$-2139$.

Chopper territory but no choppers spawning for quite a while, right Goon? SCAR was on fire in this one, sniping and killing but I got him once at point blank with a rocket.... He got two perfect revenges: I land on a roof in mid turf and I'm killed as soon as I hop off the chopper... Where SCAR was? Probably on another rooftop... I respawn right below "that" rooftop and a man falls from the sky right next to me... he stands up (a bit lagging) and kills me. It was SCAR again... that was funny to watch. Scores: Riko 2/3/2, Goonah 4/4/2, cap 4/4/2, SCAR 10/4/0★

 

3rd TW - Dukes

The usual random carnage. Not much that stev and cap could do, but cap fought back like a raging bull. Scores: Riko 8/5/1★, SCAR 7/2/2★, TASO 1/3/0, cap 7/3/1/3★, stev 3/3/3

 

4th TW - North Algonquin

The Russians got us back and they did it with the same two randoms. Rooftop hunting for me and cap. Scores: cap 3/2/1★, stev 8/5/4★, Riko 4/3/2, SCAR 5/4/0, TASO 7/3/0★, noname 2/5/2

 

5th TW - Central Alderney - Sprunk

Jamaicans: TASOtheBOSS, BatesAvfv, noname4ever +2 -vs- Russians: capitalraider (LG), stev150, RikoBegovic + 2

Jamaicans won 5135$-2839$.

This was quite a weird match. We had two griefers in the team and I spent my free killing time trying to get them. Cap had to leave for some reason and me and stev were left with no hope of even trying to do something. I didn't even go to my favourite place: the Sprunk factory. Scores: TASO 2/3/0/1, Bates 9/2/0 ★, noname 9/1/0, Riko 0/4/3/2, stev 1/2/1/0. The two griefers were yayaniko and Onyx12 (combined score 0/18/3/2... fck them)

 

6th TW - Algonquin

Russians: TASOtheBOSS, mezgec, noname4ever, RikoBegovic -vs- Jamaicans: BatesAvfc + 3 (2 LG)

Russians won 4269$-2235$.

Another weird match. Bates was left alone in the middle of useless randoms and quitters... I got to finally see the secret spot in Algonquin museum turf though. But those fire escape steps are boring to climb... Scores: TASO 2/1/2, mezgec 11/4/1★, noname 7/1/0★, Riko 6/3/0, Bates 5/2/1★

 

7th TW - Bohan

Jamaicans: RikoBegovic +2 (1 of them had a funny name: GotMyGrade10... not a bad player btw) -vs- Russians: mezgec, noname4ever + 1 (the super annoying on mic BIGHOMIEKDOLLA)

Jamaicans won 3735$-3389$.

Beside the annoying man it was a good match. Classic Bohan mid turf battles. My randoms weren't bad at all, one got a 2/5/2 and GotMyGrade a decent 8/6/1. Not the same for the Russians, the BIG IDIOT got a 1/10/1... He would never shut up and I told him that maybe he could have done better with his mouth locked on silence. Scores: Riko 13/11/4★, mez 5/11/4, noname 11/8/4★

 

8th TW - Central Alderney

Russians: capitalraider, TwindSkittle, noname4ever +1 -vs- Jamaicans: RikoBegovic, rybyfaktor +2

Russians won 4187$-3040$.

We got slaughtered... I started to be a bit tired in this match... (poor excuse?). Well it was around 4am.... I couldn't even hit noname and Twind with 6 rockets... I had to wait for the flames to do the job after I was dead... Twind got burnt

9th TW - Dukes

We got slaughtered again but it was good fun. The last 10 minutes me and cap tried to make a fortress out of the russian home turf in Dukes, the one with RPG and armor respawn between the houses. Well, we lasted for a while... Scores: noname 10/4/2★, Twind 11/6/2★, Riko 4/9/1, cap 6/9/1

 

10th TW - Bohan

Russians: TwindSkittle & noname4ever -vs- Jamaicans: RikoBegovic & capitalraider

Russians won 3150$-3131$.

Yep, 19 dirty BUCK$... Anyway cap and Twind were idle at times during this match. Me nad cap tried a last minute move on their home turf and tried to win the match (we were leading for quite a while when Twind was idle ). I got there full speed but got killed twice by noname. When finally noname killed himself and cap I ran to the circle and gained 88% of the turf. Not enough, the game and the long GTA nite were finished. Scores: noname 6/3/2★, Twind 0/3/2, Rik 3/4/2, capital 2/3/1.

 

Note for cap: man I forgot which was the match that u switched team and came to help me... wait... maybe it wasn't in this nite after all... probably in the next one... anyway cap had 5 kills before switching....

 

 

TW TALES (Saturday May 9th)

 

1st TW - Industrial Alderney

Jamaicans won 3383$-2990$.

I guess it was cap that found this very good TW player: LiLAL3X_88. Add him if u have the chance cause he's cool. The match was good too. Many randoms but some good shooters. I joined the game after spending a bit of time in NOOSE and Deal Breaker... u know it was almost 3am and nobody was online...

2nd TW - Bohan

I guess that this was the match were cap switched team to help me... He was sniping our a*ses in mid turf before that. Nice match, we held the game till the end quite good. Scores: capital 7/2/3★, Riko 11/10/3★, LiLAlx 11/7/6★, ex 0/2/1

 

3rd TW - Dukes

Cap was idle at times and alx was deadly. He got me in the beginning many times like I was a real noob... Then I blocked the mid turf, rolled one and alx couldn't find me anymore so he went for a the random. The guy kept respawning in mid turf and no matter what he kept coming back to alx for more deaths Scores: explicit 6?/3/2★, alx 20/1/0★, LilAlx 1/1/1, Riko 1/8or9/2, cap 1/4/0, the LOCED guy 3/12/0

 

4th TW - Dukes

Heated match as usual in Bohan. I got a bit of revenge on alx and got him quite a few times in mid turf. It wasn't enought to win though. Anyway, good fun. Scores: ex 4/2/1, alx 10/6/5★, LilAlx 6/7/3, Riko 10/8/2★, cap 5/1/2

When I read Doc"s stories, I became hungry..hungry of TW!!

 

I remember that night I played..and I played like amateur!! I realized that when I have my mic on, but I need to be quiet, I cant play good. I simply cant concentrate of what Im doing i game, while Im listening, translating, thnking how to answer or tell back, in shortest way possible..and then behind the corner "meeting" with some great player..hard times!! I dont remember nothing of those matches..only that I was drunk around all day!!

First TW topic match/tale u remember: maybe the semifinal of the 3rd DTWC? was a HG after an invite of TASO, boca send me a msg, stay on turf with Taso and so was. Was so bored coz have not seen nobody in 8-9 minutes. Taso said be patient, they are coming and so was, the hell started. Had no idea of hiding spots, was crouching in the trash near the Sprunk factory.. We won. Riko was doing all alone on the home turf, thought that is impossible.

Free TW Comments: So pleased of the fact, that stev and Riko said i am doing well when i protected a building turf in North Algonquin (triple X on the map)? alone. Sniped stev and RPGd Taso several times only coz i was at unconventional spots around the building, had no idea of usual blocking spots. This was after two or three weeks of playing. So excited about that.

What/Who brought u to TW topic: My wife found it. I remember getting my a$$ kicked in a few games and I told her “it is impossible that I am this bad, or they can be this good” My wife says “I bet you there are online cheats” and I stated there was no way, that would destroy the integrity of the game. So she found this site and told me “see, I told you there are cheats”. I explanined that those were game cheat and began searching for topics. Found the TW one, started to play and chat with Riko and the rest is history.
