clickbile101 0
Hi guys, I haven't played GTA3, Vice City, or San Andreas in a long time, but now that I've beaten GTA IV on my 360 I thought I'd load them up and see the evolution of the series in 3D. San Andreas works perfectly fine, but both GTA3 and Vice City give me the same problem: the intros run perfectly, but once the intros end - or I push a key to skip the intro - it freezes and nothing loads. I have to alt-tab out of the game and terminate the application. I've stopped [email protected], stopped my virus protection from running, and stopped all unnecessary processes. I've tried using a no-CD crack and it doesn't help. All of my drivers are up-to-date, and I'm confused because San Andreas works totally fine, but GTA3/VC don't. Any advice? Girish 3,773
Try deleting the set file from their respective User Files folder. Also, try running them in Windows 98 compatibility mode.
clickbile101 0
I forgot to mention those two steps, but I've already done both. >_<

gtamodder 8
Did you mod them?
clickbile101 0
No mods. 3.2 GHz Intel Pentium D, two nVidia GeForce 7800 GTX cards in SLI configuration (yes, I've tried turning off SLI and running with just one), 2 GB RAM, Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi sound card. I've really got no idea what's going on here 0_o
gtamodder 8
If you are running Vista, try disabling the User Account Control. I had the same, where SA Would work when it was enabled, but Vice City or III Wouldn't. I had to disable it, reboot, delete gta_vc.set (Documents\GTA Vice City User Files), and Documents\GTA3 User Files\gta3.set. You may need to delete both of the .set files, after disabling the User Account Control.

The Kirbster 0
Um, try going to the "Properties Menu" of gta-vc.exe and the GTA III Exe file. If the box that has "Read Only" is checked, uncheck it and see if it loads.
clickbile101 0
Read-Only's not checked, nor is hidden. Archive is checked.
