You wouldn't have to focus that much on the gay factor..basically have other people around him treat his as a stereotype and he is basically a normal guy. The storyline could be he was a mob soldier who got kicked out for being gay..the whole premise being he overcomes other peoples phobias, prejudice and machine guns to gain respect and a foothold in one of the Famalies, (or his own). He himself wouldn't even focus on his sexuality...only while to other peoples reactions to it. Rockstar may be the only company with the balls to do such a thing.. I'm sure there are people who don't like it for decent reasons (which I respect) and those who are just stupid homophobes (which I do not), but I for one think if done correctly would be a very interesting a groundbreaking storyline. At first I found him funny, but then he started to get on my nerves for being so gay. But if they did make him gay, the would have to explore his sexuality and that would result in some really gay scenes, which I don't want to watch, because that's gay. GTA 5, the protaganist should be an affluent Saudi buisinessman who gets a price on his head because he is mistaken for a terrorist, and gets abused by almost every NPC. That would be really awesome, especially with all the paranoia striking Liberty city. And a jewish protaganist? The jewish gang in Lucky Number Slevin was badass, man. It's time rockstar branched out. And as for Female/gay/lesbian protananists, why limit the player? Just do it like Mass Effect; choose your gender, and then date whoever you want to date, and have their sexuality suit you. It's a computer. The main story would be that he gets "found out" by his mob bosses and kicked out. You could show the bosses themselves talking about it or him mentioning the reason in the opening cut scene. The mob itself could "black list" him so everyone knows..and maybe the others will wonder everyone reacts to strongly against them and he simply tells them.
