Sal's old mansion is on the top left hand corner of the map. I will be honest and say it looks nothing like the Mansion in GTA III. Just the garages. It's nothing like it and almost certainly was never meant to look anything like it. People blame R* for removing things, but really, I think a lot of the 'lost' features existed only in the imaginations of the gamer journalists. No.. you're starting on the "last" island in GTA3... francis international airport wasn't in the first island, it was in the third. I dont agree with nobody that says that the old casino is the salvatore mansion. its a old casino, not a mansion. Maybe the burnt mansion looks more like it, but i dont think so. But geez it would have really been something if one of the random pedestrian encounters you have would have been with someone like a down on his luck Joey Leone. And I know alot of people don't care about it,but I'd like to know what happened to the Leone family in the years leading up to GTA 4,specifically Joey Leone, and Liberty City's number one capo Toni Cipriani. They've done the GTA III trilogy (sextet, including GBA and PSP games) and want to move on. But just don't say it's a new Universe, then have the damn place called Liberty City which has Francis International Airport, the Liberty Tree, references to San Andreas and Vice City. Hell, even Lazlow talks about his time in Vice City in the 80s, which puts it in THE SAME UNIVERSE. R* have really pissed me off with this. It's like they've skewed the whole thing up. THAT MANSION is similar to the Leone mansion, AND ITS ELEVATED like the leone mansion was, which looks down onto the beach from high above AND THE MAFIA SENTINEL goes around there all the time...makes sense to me...but that mansion prolly isnt even in the game. EL BENSON Posted May 13, 2008 Share Posted May 13, 2008 Rockstar makes several references to past characters in the game, I saw somethig about Jezz Torrent, Lazlow talks about it, and there is a shrine to the ex-main characters. And them taking out the old characters so new players could play and not miss out is, yet again, rockstar selling the fans of GTA back to the beginning short, so they could make more money.
