PLEASE SAY THAT THIS IS JUST ONE BIG PRACTICAL JOKE !!!!

I mean you have 2Ghz P4, 512Mb RAM geforce 4 ti4600 and gta3 runs at 30fps??

I havent yet bought the game but i intend to my system specs are:

1.2GHz AMD Athlon

288Mb RAM

32Mb Voodoo 4 4500 AGP

Jedi Knight 2 has better graphics than gta3 and i can get it running on 1024x768 32-bit high detail and it runs at 70fps !!!

Now you saying that GTA 3 on a 2Ghz P4 runs at 30 fps?

f*cking hell do i need an upgrade you gotta be kidding me !!!

You lot cant even get it on 800x600 for f*ck sake !!!

Here's my setup:

XP

Pentuim III 866

128mb RAM (rambus)

XFX GeForce4 Ti4200 AGP 64MB DDR

Bottom line:the game still runs like crap

I picked up that video card last week in hopes to enhance my PC's game performance, especially GTA3.  GTA3 was unplayable when I was using my old TNT2 card with frame freezes up to 10 seconds long.  It is now playable, but still runs like a sloppy poop at 640x480 16 bit.  I'd consider buying more ram but rambus ram is stupid expensive. I'd rather spend the $200 on a new motherboard.

I'm going to try out this Advanced Options mod right now and see how it works.  I've already tried every other possible thing I can think of and nothing seems to work.  Stupid GTA3.  Recommended requirements my arse!!

512MB DDR2100

40gb 7200 RPM

Win XP Professional

Onboard Sound (Avance AC97)

Gameplay is perfect, I don't know if there are any instances when it slows down... In this case, XP does have something to do with it, as the gladiac is optimized for XP.

Average GTA3 fram rate is about 30fps at a screen resolution of 1024x768 @ 32bit colour with all options on. If U R having problems with frame rates try some of these pointers...

1) GTA3 is memory hungry so close any programs that r

running in the background (i.e winzip).

2) Defrag your HDD regularly

3) Get the latest drivers for your video card

AMD Athlon XP 1900+ (1.6GHz) running on:

Asus A7V333 RAID Motherboard

512 Mb DDR RAM PC2100

IBM Deskstar 120GXP 7200RPM 120Gb harddrive

Asus AGP-V7100 32Mb(Geforce 2 MX 400)

Creative Soundblaster Live! Player

Win98/WinXP (Tried the game on both)

GTA3 gives away a sh*tty performance on all detail levels. I have tried all available solutions/fixes but it still lags and slows down. The problem really kicked off when I got to Staunton Island. In Portland it was playable, but still had these annoying "bumps and jumps". Will this game ever run smooth on my computer!?

GTA3 runs ok most of the time with everything turned off and low res with draw distance turned up all the way cuz it doesnt matter, but the first few minutes it lags alot. It also lags for a minutes when i change cars. I wish they wood have finished it instead of letting every1 buy a crap game. :die:

M830 series motherboard (266MHz FSB with SiS 735 chipset)

AMD Athlon XP 2000

256MB of PC2100 DDR RAM

40x CD-ROM and 16x DVD-ROM

Forsa Geforce 4 MX440 with 64MB DDR RAM

Windows XP Professional

At 1024*768*16bit colour GTA3 runs decently and only lags when on the "busy", four-lane road of Staunton Island (the road your hideout is located on).

I'm looking to save a bit of money and buy some more RAM and the ATI Radeon 9700 (with 256MB of DDR RAM included). DAMMIT I can't wait! I'll be playing Vice City very smoothly when the time rolls around.

Thinking about going to Win2000 Pro, cant decide if I wanna reformat or upgrade and see how it does.  GTA3 runs at about 25-35 FPS normally.  When I am in a car driving around fast with alot of other cars, it goes down to about 25-28, driving with no cars or people, about 35, and running around with cars driving by and people, it runs about 40 fps.  I dont see how some people on some games can get 90 fps.  Oh, the settings   Frame Sync - OFF, Frame Limiter - OFF, Trails - OFF/ON (Doesnt seem to affect anything, cant tell a diff in looks either), Widescreen - OFF, Brightness - Full (Monitor is dim, need to look inside and replace a bulb probably), Veiw Distance - 4 from full, Resolution - 1024x768x16.  The only real slowdown I get is when I go into another part of the city, and it pops up the name, the game slows down for a second to about 6-10 fps but then speeds right back up.

P4 northwood 2.2 GHz  (compaq) i850 processor

256 MB RAM

GeForce 2 MX 64 MB

XP home

and so on :D

Well I've never played a game that runs this fast, the laoding doesn't take more than 3 secs (from the clicking on the icon, to the startscreen, when I drive over the bridge, and the second part has to be loaded, you have got just time enough to read welcome to ... (and I'm not jokin';)

there is only one thing that botters me, and that's when I'm downloading at a rate starting from about 60 KB, that the game freezes for a sec every minute or so, but you don't hear me complaining :D)

My specs are below.

I get an average of around 82fps, lowest around 79fps in staunton island. I have no problems running the game,no lag no sh*t. I run the game on 800x600 16 bit with draw distance and brightness set at full, frame sync off, frame limiter off, trails off. In the audio options i use dsound3d software emulation, two speakers, dynamic acoustic modeling off. The game runs really smoothly all of the time but ounce in a while i get a pause for about half a second but you dont hear me complaining. :D  :pp  :colgate:

I also have an Encore XP-200 700Watt amplifier subwoofer system to enjoy the music. :colgate:
