0utlaw Posted July 16, 2002 Share Posted July 16, 2002 holy shyaaat!! how much did you spend on ur pc? sweet lil' system you got there... my stats: AMD Athlon XP 1800+ 256mb DDR PC2100 nVidia Geforce 2 MX 440 64Mb 60gig hdd soundblaster 5.1 live! game runs alrite at 1024*768 with everything maxed and tweaked (about 20-25fps). ive eliminated lags but when i just hit staunton from the bridge, the textures take about (4-5 secs) to appear. other than that, the games okay i thot of getting a geforce 4ti 4600 but i think ill wait out and get a new motherboard that supports agp 8x when it comes out Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The game runs about 30-80fps on 1024x768 32bit resolution. Before I got the sheepy patch, it was 15-50fps. I am using fraps to record my fps. The game runs fine except when I am at Staunton Island. gaming republican Posted July 19, 2002 Share Posted July 19, 2002 my specs: intel celeron 769mHz pentium III 30gb hard drive 64mb ram(expands to 512) intel 82810E grafix chipset,32mb video ram windows ME 48x dvd\cdrw combo drive. gta3 doesn't give me the performance of other high-res games to date,my usual fps is 4-15.My grafix card gives me exeptional performance on other games such as max payne and nba live 2002,which have very realistic grafix!!Far better than gta3.I am using 3d-analyse and the gta3 advanced options,along with sheepys mod.Still nothing drastic! For those of you experiencing similar problems,try to edit direct-x refresh rate to a value like 70-120,also you can change your monitors refresh rate to optimal(before you do this make shure your moniter supports that mode)go to deaktop properties,settings,advanced to see.Now after this my gta3 runs at an increase of 4-9 fps and this is even at high resolutions and maximum draw distance!!BUT ithere is always room for improvement! (Nearly always at 30fps, using FRAPS. Turning off frame rate limiter hits 60-65, but when it goes to a new area there is a noticable slowdown for a fraction of a second, which makes the game weird) Occasional twitch when something new is loading. DrNes Posted July 20, 2002 Share Posted July 20, 2002 soon to have an athlon xp2000, 512sdram, 60gbhdd, k7s5ammobo, geforce2 400 64mb... i know im let down by the graphics card ill upgrade that near to the appocolips of DOOM III! the pc im using now is a duron 800, 128mb, voodoo3 gta freezes becuase of the v3 (not compatable with directx8.1) and is kinda unplayable ... it runs slow in the top looking down view does anyone know a driver for the v3 that will make gta3 run? oh well i aint got long to wait to play it on my new pc but im very impatiant! There's no lag... I don't know about the frame rates, but I won't care as long as it is smooth to the eye. I run GTA3 at 800x600x16 on this computer. 2nd: Intel Pentium II 233MHz Asus P2L97 160MB PC100 SDRAM ATI Xpert 2000 Pro (ATI Rage 128 Pro) 32MB SDRAM SoundBlaster 16 Audio Fujitsu 3.2GB hard drive 56K modem (some crappy brand) Windows 98 Heh... GTA3 runs like a piece of junk on this computer... like 5-6 frames per second... I could play it on this computer for about 5 minutes, then it just crashes back to the desktop. Oh well... Although you have a good video card, your Celeron (I call them Celery) is bogging you down... also how much RAM do you have? If you have less than 256MB of RAM, things are going to slow down.
