I call it "Critter." GTA3 calls it "Severe overkill." Hey, it runs VC and SA fine...but I'm still fighting with GTA3 about my (onboard) audio, but that's another topic. I guess I'll try the part-time SB Live.

Looking down, I see I'm not the only one still running GTA3 on computers that happily accept San Andreas. Good work, guys! biggrin.gif And everyone with the FX5200s, at least it ain't a Radeon 9250; my old Powercolor was the proverbial little engine that could, but not very well...SanAn at 10 FPS in the rain...But it was still a great card for tryin'.

ThunderPower

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+

1GB of RAM

SAPPHIRE Radeon X1800GTO

Realtek ALC888

250GB HD

350 watt PSU

Runs GTA3 at a smooth 200 (!!!) FPS at 1280x1024x32 with 8x Anistropic and 6x AntiAliasing

Runs GTAVC at 200 FPS with same settings as GTA3

Runs GTASA at 70 FPS at 1280x1024x32, 8x Anisotropic, 6x AA, Very High Detail

All have full draw distance

BTW, if Demarest still frequents this forum, look at this Wikipedia article:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frame_rate

The human eye can see much more than 30 FPS.

I got the chance to play this on my friend's high-end system hooked up to an HDTV.

Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 (2.66GHz per core, 2 x 4mb L2 cache)

4 gigs of high-latency Corsair RAM

Two GeForce 8800 Ultras in SLI

Hooked up to a 50-inch HDTV, played the highest widescreen resolution GTA3 could take. Turned on frame limiter as we noticed an odd skipping effect occuring. Absolutely amazing... possibly the best GTA3 experience ever.

What the f**k !? This can't be true! The 8MB video cards don't support 3D!
