well....this is what i think...

If you look at GTA 3.....it was also feature less coz it was the

first GTA on PS2. That time, they couldnt make it like

San Andreas...then Vice City was better and San Andreas was

crazy...so im guessing that they made IV a bit feature less coz

the next GTA will be like VC compared to gta3 and the one

after that will be like SA compared to VC......so ....yehh

Agree with you on most - they are saving the fun features for next game - to improve

But, GTA III wasn't crap - sometimes i even prefer it to IV

Some people have also hinted at the DLC for possible add-ons, i.e. enterable buildings and other such features that are currently missing from the game.

lmao wtf... yeah sarcasm.gif that totally made sence .. the obvious reason is because of the 360 being as capable as it currently is.. *mainly that arcade or w/e one* and i guess they were originally designing the game with the ps3 in mind and ended up having to cut things.. hopefully 360's will be more capable by the next gta and we won't be having the same problems..

this is just my point of view it could be something totally different but .. its the most logical idea

well hopefully for the DLC they have the PS2 version of SA(not next gen) and then we can also have planes, jetpacks and all the SA cars and parachutes..

then it will either be exlusive to PS3 or M$ will put blu-ray on a 360 or invent a 50gb disk which i think they already have...

I don't see why R* would leave out features for the game intentionally, just to make people pay for them. They're not EA.

Lazlow confirmed that the DLC will just be new missions, contacts, and comedy.

I've been posting this idea in quite a few complainer threads. colgate.gif Dumb complainers sarcasm.gif I doubt this will stop them but nice post anyway.

And (not so sound like a fanboy or anything) the 360 doesn't come with a hard drive as standard, so the whole game has to fit on a DVD disk. It'd be unfair for the PS3 and 360 versions to differ so the PS3 will have to have the same features.

But hopefully DLC will add more features. Especially as the PS3 and some 360s have hard drives.

And any fanboyism in this post isn't intentional... I just blame Microsoft for not putting a damn hard drive in all 360s when they did it in the original Xbox...

Depends on what you mean by "featureless".

If you're referring to the pointless and boring mini-games and character customization (this is GTA, not The Sims) from SA, then yeah, I could see how you'd call it that.

Now if you're talking in terms of gameplay elements (cover system, improved car handling, improved shooting system, drive by's, MUCH better AI and lots of other things) or the vastly superior world of LC compared to SA, then you're soreley mistaken. SA was garbage in that matter.

R* is going for quality, not quantity here people. It's quite obvious and yet a lot of you have a very hard time grasping this concept.

You win this thread. I completely agree with you. SA had a lot more stuff to do, but it was all boring, and after you did it once, you never did it again.

actually R* were making GTA 4 the Xbox an then sony gave them a load of money to get it on the PS3.

thats why we had to wait and extra 5 or so months from the original release date, so they could port it on to PS3. and thats y only xbox has DLC cause sony didnt really care about getting GTA.

also Xbox users are getting and extra 80 hours of gameplay end of this year in the way of 2 new maps!!! via DLC.

Nothing against PS3 (i have one myself v good console)

But....

Xbox rules!!!lol tounge.gif

P.S. im not a fan boy just very happy!LOL biggrin.gif

Lol mate dream on - 80 hours of gameplay - considering it take on average 45 hours to complete IV...

New map? Sorry but the word bollocks springs to mind

jus have to wait and see.

any way im not complaining i think GTA4 is a gaming masterpiece a benchmark for all games to aspire to! like some one said before who wants to go and piss about on all small minor things that get boring.

altho i would of liked to see push bikes they were fun!

GTA was meant to be released last year!!!

So GTA IV is "feature-less" compared to San Andreas? Oh, I must have missed the multiplayer option while playing SA then. I guess I was too busy doing push-ups, or buying bandanas, or driving for a half hour through desolate farmlands. Yeah those were fun times.. if you were completely brain-dead.

Meanwhile GTA IV has one of the most engrossing online experiences available on next-gen consoles. A feature that will keep most competitive gamers occupied for months if not years. It has it's problems, yes, but it's also just in it's infancy. But even at release you could take ALL the maps from COD4 and Halo, put them all together, and they STILL wouldn't match the size and scope and unlimited playability of LIBERTY CITY.

QFT, Bitches.

What the OP calls "features", I call fluff designed to make the game more like the Sims. IV is so rich and immersive and refined, I just am amazed at the constant stream of little ADD kids whining because they can't make their character into fat albert and put a cowboy hat and sandals on him. I've said it before and I'll say it again: go buy sims2, and when you get bored of IV, just eject the disc and put in the sims, then play that until you get a hankerin for some murderdeathkill, and put IV back in. Personally, you can have all your Sims "features", I'll take an immersive, refined crime drama.

That's what I thought, GTA IV is the GTA III of the next-gen, so let's wait for the new GTA (maybe in 2010 because DLC arrives in oct 08 and oct 09) to have much as features as San Andreas or even more !!!!!!!

While that would be nice, I highly doubt it. If history is any indication, R* is going to get started on the next GTA very shortly while having maybe a small portion of the team work on DLC.

Obviously it's only a guess, but an educated one.

It would be sooner too! Since R* already has grasp on RAGE & Euphoria. They spent a long time trying to develop RAGE and implement Euphoria so that's why we got GTA 4 just now; but it's a very good investment since this things may become the benchmark of future games.

The only thing that R* might do is too improve the gameplay and implement new features. Maybe they can provide new interactions on Euphoria.

As for now, MOST of us are content with GTAIV... until the next one comes out. biggrin.gif

this is a great point, i'd never considered it.

it is pretty obvious that the next game for this generation of consoles will have more features, i guess it just never occurred to a lot of us.

also for the record i think this is the best and most engrossing GTA so far, although all have been f*cking incredible for their own reasons, IV included.

LOL, Your retarded. No, they started the project on the 360. Then sony came in and paid them to also have it on the PS3. Which lead to this big 'ol debate blah blah blah.

Yes. You are right. Also, this is the first game to use the RAGE engine, (second game on 360). Unlike the PS2 versions, which used the Renderware engine (Which has been used in several other games before.).

Yes... I... Did... Indeed... Act... Like... An... Asshole... On... Purpose...

And his "valid point", is in fact obvious. It's a way to make cash. They make the game next to perfect, with just little room for improvment (i.e. stupid minigames). And the same with the next game. I'd hardly call dressing like a gimp "improvement", but, hey. The kids love it.
