I think I played san andreas from 2004 up to like 2010 and then in 2013 again littlebit. I was like 10-11 when it first came and I prob playd it first time in some friends birthday. I also liked 90s gangsta rap and all 90s hip hop and youth/popular culture very much since when I was just a little 5-7 yo little kid in late 90's early 00's so 11 yo old me instantly fell in love with the game when it came in 04.

It was like the best thing ever seen for me.

I started to replay san andreas again last summer on my old ps2, but the problem is that it looks very bad in my flat screen tv for some reason. All mushy and sh*tty and the screen won't fit properly.

I quess the technology dont fit each other or something.

Looked so much better with old box tv's..

Compositr output generally doesn't look too good on HDTVs. And the game was originally in 4:3, so it looks strange when widened to 16:9.

Actually there's a widescreen option in the display settings, but it's Vert-. Still better than nothing, though.

Yep both of you are right. I remember when I first got a 720p Sony Bravia HDTV 20 inch. It was my first ever HDTV and it's what I used to first play my PS3. I remember playing GTA SA and Vice City on my backwards compatible PS3, and it's output just looked quite poor compared to how it looked on my old box-style Sony Trinitron 14 inch TV. It looked so pixelated and basic.

If want the best SA visual experience, you gotta get a decent gaming PC and monitor that can play the game in 60fps at least.

Most definitely I still play SA, but with mods and slightly modified graphics and effects at 60fps and it could not have looked, felt and played any better !!

The proportions are fine, the Wide screen option fixes it. What he's on is the 480p resolution, which means that up close it looks impossible to play.

I fixed it by sitting on my bed 2 metres away from the telly :)

You need to be playing it on PC, nothing beats it there at 60fps, with SkyFX and Project2DFX.

But turning the Frame Limiter off kind of screws a lot of things up.

There is a Cleo mod that fixes that. It locks the frame rate at 60fps and you get no problems, it runs very smooth.

Started to replay today morning again and I changet the tv settings like this and tv's auto fit instead of widescreen and games setting to widescreen. and it looks good enough now https://success.highfive.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001923611-Recommended-TV-Picture-Settings-all-brands- . Still kinda pixelated but playable.

I can't feel it anymore, it's been four years the last time was playing and is boring now.

I had gotten it for Xbox a few years ago. Not only did it have glitches but the experience wasn't the same as playing on PS2. Although it was comfortable and a memory lane.

I recently got a PS2 and got lll and kept Vice City after all these years. Now I'll add San Andreas to the list.

It's amazing how much of the landmarks and directions are remembered. It's like picking up where I left off. The physics of the older GTA games are something to get used to again.

Finished it twice when I first bought it. Now I'm busy playing GTA V. I still play it sometimes though. There's a kind of good feeling u get when u play SA, that u can't ever get from any other game.😁

First played in 2006, until 2014. Started again in 2019 after a 5 year gap and absolutely love it. SA has bigger features, story and map than the latest GTA 5 which is all graphics. Nothing more fun in the series than engaging in gang wars with the Ballas, just one out of countless awesome features of the game, and I tell you what makes a gape good is not graphics (movies are good enough for just looking good on screen) but features and SA has some of the biggest features of any open world game series ever to exist. Every GTA since 3 are just awesome and among the best games ever made (except Advanced), but San Andreas will always be special and its features unmatched by anything else.

I still play SA in fairness.  More so than IV actually as of late.

Exactly same. SA and 4 are tied as the best games I have ever played. Hoping to restart 4 again soon, but never ever stopping SA again.... well sadly not possible but gonna stick around as long as I can....
