GTA IV Secrets and Easter Eggs

Not sure if this is coincidence or what, but at Cerverza Heights in Broker (Might be Dukes. Don't really know) there's a street called "Stillwater Avenue".

We all know "Stilwater" is the name of the city in Saints Row. I don't know if it means anything, but just thought it was worth a mention.

I don't know where abouts I was when i saw it (mucking around on a friends game, before i knew what i was doing), but there is a closed down Cluck'n Bell with sign's on the door saying "Condemned by Federal Health Service", or something along those lines.

There's a few of them around the city, I believe. I haven't done anything for any of them, but I think they're called 'the Freaks' or something, according to whattheydonotwantyoutoknow.com

taking rockstars "69" obsession shouldnt the 72 thing be 69

I know this was a long time ago in the thread but I couldn't leave questions unanswered. 24 is a show where the time moves by realistically so if you watch the show for an hour an hour just passed in the storyline of the show. So they called the show 24 because each season lasts 24 episodes/hours and each episode is 1 hour. So 72 hours would be 3 days and 69 wouldn't make as much sense.

cool find, but i think (knowing rockstar) there will be more to it. probably some p*ssy gang in stillwater ave. or a character making reference to it in a negative way, ie a dig at saints row. someone should have a look around stillwater ave cos theres probably more to it than just a name.

it isnt a secret, the green dudes on map are side missions, missions dont have to be "go do something" this guy who gives $100 is near roman and i encountered him early $100 is a head start to the player and good fun

Mysterious serial killer on the lose (Grizzly bear).

The serial killer is a guy called Eddie. You pick him up in Alderney for a Random Ped mission.

You're not lying? Answer me honestly: Is there really a serial killer in this game? (To the best of your knowledge)

Please tell me.

His [GTA IV's Serial Killer's] name is...

Niko Bellic.

So am i the only one who saw Hassan (the guy who was on the boat with you) so far? He appeared as the random green icon in the middle island. He was selling bags on the corner. And you get to do a mission for him.

I'll have a look today.

On the map you get with the game, I've noticed a few other (possible) references.

"Crockett Avenue" Firefly Island. There's a character in the show "Miami Vice" named Sonny Crockett. Ironically Miami Vice was also heavily used as a backdrop in Vice City.

"Edison Avenue" Alderney. Might a reference to the American Inventor Thomas Edison?

"Schneider Avenue" Alderney. Maybe a nod to Actor & Comedian Rob Schneider?

Also the majority of the street names seem to be elements/minerals like Quartz Street, Topaz Street, Ruby Street etc.

Quite interesting.

"Jimmy From Bully" Can be found walking outside Hove Beach Railway Station at certain times .>I thinks its quite cool the developers have some of the other rockstar games characters make suprise visits

I keep hearing this "Serial Killer" in Liberty City on the radio stations, is that suppose to be me (Niko)? or some ped off the street?

EASTER EGG

If you ever watch TV in your apartment, you'll see Las Venturas in one of the commercials. It doesn't have next-gen graphics (it's from the PS2/Xbox/PC) and it's a scene from one of the San Andreas commercials that was put up in Real Life while the game was coming out! Sorry for no picture, but it was for like 3 seconds only and i have nothing to take a pic of it.

theres a street in Algonquin (real-life Manhattan) that is called Uranium Ave.

possibly a reference to the Manhattan Project?

theres also a street in Broker called Hollowback Ave. reference to Gwen Stefani's song Hollaback Girl.

theres also a Coxsack Ave next to the Triangle Club

theres a Tinconderoga Ave... reference to Ticonderoga, a 18th century fort

a Sundance and a Cassidy St. from the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Another western movie reference with Earp St. (Wyatt Earp)

theres also many streets in Alderney that reference famous inventors, (Babbage Drive, Edison Ave, Farnsworth Rd)
