Mogyle
99% of things listed in this thread, they are either references to past games, crude jokes like the 69 references plainly out in the open, or parodies in a game that itself is intended to be a parody. There is one easter egg in this game, it is the heart in the statue, it is something put into the game the developers figured would not be found by anyone except the most dedicated fans. So lets shorten and close this thread. First page. List of easter eggs: Heart in Statue of Happiness Thread closed until more actual easter eggs are found. Agreed with that, that's why I think this topic should be called "Easter Eggs and References" ___ For the Excelsior9, I just see a P, and where's the star ? TheTruePiMs
Sorry If it has been told yet !!! In the south of Broker, near the go kart circuit, there's a building called Johnson's, you can see five people on a wall, and you can see one black people who really looks like CARL JOHNSON !!!! I was astonished, I'm sure it's definitely him a bit older (IV is around 15 years after San Andreas). Are you a mod? As Doctor Emmett L. Brown said, easter eggs are references to past GTA games. Ok lets clarify this. {BEGIN RANT} A reference is NOT an Easter Egg. There are only a handful of actual Eggs in the game (thus far). Beating Heart is the only true confirmed. The Happiness shirt....meh..maybe. The purple dildo's....possibly. A bunch of pictures of past GTA people or name scribbles..nah. Thats called an Homage or paying respect to past characters. NOT an Easter Egg! As far as references go....thats all they are...nothing more...nothing less. Everything else is either a R* creation, a spoof or a knock-off of a real world brand. NOT and easter egg. Should this thread be locked...NO Should this thread be weeded through for all the BS and duplicate posts.. HELL YEA!! But...judging from the fact that this thread is still going strong....the mods dont seem to mind. So let 'em all whine about this and that. They're just mad 'cause we found the stuff first and their threads keep getting locked. {END RANT} Edited June 1, 2008 by saturnneo

NOT an Easter Egg! I agree with most of the argue but an Easter Egg is clearly a message from Rockstar to the most hardcore fans that'll spend so much time on the game they'll finish to find something which has nothing to do in the game. The "No Easter Egg Up here" in SA is clearly talking to the player, "No Hidden Content" in GTA IV is the same. In my opinion, the one I found about the abandoned Burger Shot saying "Bugs are Sh*t" can be called an Easter Egg because it hasn't be done in a coherent universe purpose, just a hidden message dedicated to the player. Spoofs are Spoofs (even as great as the Cluck Norris one), References are References, and so it is...

Let me explain this a little slower for you. An Easter egg is an intentional hidden message, feature or item in an object such as a movie, book, CD, DVD, PC Application, or video game. What is the message in that? Let's assume (never good) they are talking about de-bugging the game. Why? There are alot of little signs like that all across GTAIV...but i wouldn't necessarily call them easter eggs. "No Hidden Content" could be considered an easter egg, but thats obvious. Like about every other GTA since III, we all knew that there would be a sign somewhere.

saturnneo
Sorry about the wrong info but the securicars in GTA III said Gruppe sechs and the ones in VC said the same, and the ones in GTA IV say Gruppe 6 Unless you take it for what it was meant...Group Sex (duh!). Sechs is German for 6 so either way it's still the same.. Just different in wording. In translation it means "Group of 6". ***SIDENOTE*** If you say "Group Six" with a European accent (like Niko) or a slightly German accent, it sounds like your saying Group Sex. ***ANOTHER TIDBIT*** There are actually 8 brands of R*. However only six have been known to make games. R* North - GTA: Vice City, etc... R* Leeds - GTA:VCS, etc... R* Vancouver - Bully R* London - Manhunt 2 R* Toronto - The Warriors R* San Diego - Midnight Club, etc... Could this be the "Group of 6"???????????????????????? Just so you know: R* New England - The newest studio and are still hiring. R* Lincoln - Q/A and Localization Studio. Let's assume (never good) they are talking about de-bugging the game. Why? I've highlighted what I'm explaining. Go to Cerveza Heights, in Camden Avenue, there's a Burger Shot, it really seems normal but it's closed. Take some distance to see both sides, wait for the night to make it clearer, and then it appears "Bugs r Sh*t". For me, it's a message, seen only by some distance, can be seen by day but not easily what makes it kinda hidden. And what makes difference between an egg and any other reference, it's because the egg is devoted to the player. Who will encounter bugs ? Niko Bellic ? May be it's reals bugs (the insects)? Forget about that, it a message for the player. I'll compare this Egg with the bum in SA who carries a sign in the GTA font '"God is playing with us". It's not a super-uber-funny egg or a special hidden content that'll change everything, it's just a message from the programmers to us. They know there will be bugs, and it's like an apologize. Screenshot would be appreciated, I don't have a camera
