Can not ride as passanger

for some reason im not able to ride as a passanger in a taxi or romans car service. When i press Y i end up stealing the car. Its rather annoying anyone else having this problem?

Have you been pressing Y or have you been holding Y? You have to hold Y to enter as a passenger.

Lol I got annoyed when I kept stealing the car instead of being the passenger. Yeah you need to hold in Y or Triangle to become the passenger. Btw, the taxi won't stop unless it's empty of other passengers.

You can also throw out the other passengers if you can't find an empty taxi to ride in. As people have said, just hold triangle, or Y.
