GTA IV broke .....

I got GTA at midnight release and played it pretty much solid since then. I have it all completed and done and dusted

 

Now, when I am just roaming around the city, random things will happen such as the engine of which car im driving will suddenly cut out (noise) and turn into a kind of whirring noise, and then all the radio stations stop working and I can only hear static.

 

An example I can give is when I was playing pool with Jacob, with the rasta music on, happily playing, when all of a sudden the music cuts out. I thought nothing of it, then when Jacob needed to go home, he never openly said (like he normally does) 'Take me home brother', but I did, but then the marker on which I was dropping him off wasnt even acknowledging I was even there, so I was stuck!!!!

Sorry if this is a long post but I REALLY thought GTA was flawless, I just liked to think it had nothing to do with the software itself, and rather, the PSN.

(Update: GTA 4 is now completely broke, upon loading screen music cuts out and after a few minutes of roaming the city, the textures drop out, music stops and PS3 stalls. I am considering sending the game back but the disc has developed the SMALLEST of scratches Reckon im going to have any luck? Also, the scratch was purely made by the laser reading the disc)

patch is out, connect yer ps3 to psn and try it again

I exchanged the game a 4th time (for Special Edition this time around) and I installed 1.01 today just a few moments ago. Three tries to get the game to run more than 20 seconds or so before the video freezes and the audio continues on the background and I was unsuccessful. The patch did nothing for me.
