Who thinks that all the fun is gone in IV??

-no planes

-no parachutes

-no jetpacks

-online keeps f*cking up

-you cant choose your online server. It pickes one for you

-no properties for sale

-no diving

-the most boringest, longest missions

-you can hardley ever find a health pack or armour when you need it(it pisses the crap out of me)

-no quadbikes

-cant save camera pics

-not many weapons

-no horse betting

-no tanks

-no casinos

-no countryside/desert

-no replay feature

Even though Rockstar made IV realistic ....GTA was the only way to do all those

unrealistic fun stuff.

I've had just as much fun(More so, in fact) in IV than I ever had with SA or VC. So, it is in the eye of the beholder.

But saying you think that Rockstar "ruined" it is very, very funny.

I was a proponent of Gameplay>Realism back in the development stages, but I think they struck a happy medium here.

I think so elements of fun have been lost, yes. But I think the new elements of gameplay seriously make up for it.

I think a lot of people that are so diligently sticking up for the game now... will change their tune slightly once they hit 100%. It's a great game, but once the scripted stuff is over, free roam offers much less to do than previous GTA outings. Thank f*ck for multiplayer.

All I have left is the Flying Rats.

My point has never been, "OMG GTAIV WILL NEVA GET BORING." but that it is just as fun as any other GTA game, perhaps more, and considering I've plunked hundreds of hours into them all...

Besides, never once in SA did I even think about just walking around and starting fights with peds. hell, I've probably spent more time just fighting peds than I did getting haircuts, clothes, customizing cars and flying combined in SA. lol.gif

I'm also having more fun just getting into firefights to be honest, but I still can't see this one lasting as long as SA. Just the small things like a quadbike, BMX, forklifts that actually work... stick those in and it increases gameplay tenfold. Not to mention my favourite SA cheat of all, flying cars.

On a side note: does anyone know if the ramp trucks work? I see them driving around but the ramp doesn't even reach the floor. Both the OPM UK and OXM UK reviews had a screenshot showing a car ramping off one, so they must work somehow.

There is absolutely nothing to do on any of the other GTA games after 100 percent, unless you count starting over from scratch and getting 100 percent again. That's the reason why it is 100 percent completion. At least this one has physics going for it and A.I. that is intelligent enough to couple with euphoria to create unique moments. I got extremely bored with San Andreas before I even got 100 percent, but being a completist, I still suffered through the rest. I know for certain that there are quite a few more things in IV to keep me interested after the game is complete.

Well like I said in my last post, it was just the small things that kept me messing about. More vehicles, more weapons, more cheats. On their own, each one isn't important, but put them all together and it opens a whole new world of imagination.

Not tenfold, more like 1.000000000001 fold. Seriously, what use would off-road vehicles have been in this game? Where would you have found them? they would have been included "just because", and I don't think Rockstar was gonna do that this time.

If a GTA game comes out and it features more off-road areas and whatnot, then a BMX vehicle would make sense.

And I also guess it matter what type of player you are. Flying cars and whatnot never amused me as it just seemed sci-fi and if I wanted sci-fi I'd play Halo. I was also an objective based person- kill as many cops as possible to see how much havoc I could cause, some ped insulted me so I have to kick his ass, etc.

Noone has to play this game forever - in a couple of years there's gonna be a next one and after that there's gonna be even more to come. So what get's boring will be replaced by a new game. period.

videogames aren't like chess or poker - timeless. as technology moves fwd the games are getting more advanced and vice versa. next time R* will kick a$$ again, don't you worry!

It would've been tenfold for me. Adding one bike doesn't give you one thing to do. It gives you a new way to do loads of different things. Adding stuff just keeps the combinations racking up. A good example would be C4. I can think of so many fun combinations for that stuff, especially online. It doesn't just blow up.

I liked the flying cars cheat, it was just plain stupid, simple fun floating over the freeways and splatting peds. Sure I could play Halo, but it's not free roam, and GTA games have a great environment to mess about in, so why waste it? I'm not going to refuse to partake in a slightly sci-fi act just because there are sci-fi related games on the market.

Flying cars seemed sci-fi stupid- the kind of sci-fi I don't like.

You have bikes in the game, not just offroad bikes.

Flying cars just made me think of Back to the Future. I thought everyone loved those films suicidal.gif

I prefer the BMX to motorcycles. They can jump. SA had a cool little stunt park and there was also the super jump glitch, I used to spend ages using it to see how far I could climb up buildings.

...and then jump off, obviously.

Oh ferchrissakes....yet another "dis game teh suxxorz cuz I can't go rampage in rhino NEmorE!" thread. suicidal.gif If you can't have fun in a GTA game with a bunch of flying car cheats and some unrealistic police battles (not to mention an absurd military tank that somehow makes everything it touches automatically explode), then I might contact your doctor...because your ADHD drugs don't appear to be working. confused.gif

Euphoria makes this game muh more replayable than any past GTA, and it was one of the most talked about features, now people are acting like it isn't even in the game! Can people not notice how unique and different it is every time you knock someone over?

You're gonna need a HD TV to get the full experience, not some crapy small SD TV.

Saying that, I can definately feel the novelty starting to wear off every tim Iplay it, but every game has that, first you can play it for a reasonabl amount of time before it get a bit tiring, say 2 hours, as time goes on that 2 becomes and hour and a half, then 1, till eventuallythe game is completed and you have to have it for what it is.

I really don't see the problem here though, most games (i.e. not free roam games) are done as soon as you complete it, with the only option of either replaying story mode, or multiplayer (which IV has...), at least GTA is one of those games that allows you to still get as much out of the game mechanics possible.

Alright killjoy, you've made your point. But lots of people enjoy the sort of things I'm talking about, they definitely wouldn't have gone amiss being added to Liberty City.

I will eventually buy a PS3, but I'd never buy a console for a game as linear as MGS.
