No Car Mods or Paint Shop? Nobody cares?

Modding cars, having mass storage for your planes, boats, and cars and bikes was one of the main reason's for the long-term playability of GTA:SA. With these things removed, all that is left is a linear plot, some side missions, and a game that has no long-term (single-player) playability. Factor that with the fact that my PS3 freezes whenever I try to go online, and you have a game with a great single-player linear plot, broken multiplayer, and missing great components of past GTA's that seriously detract from the experience, but misses the mark for a game with the hype this game generated.

One more thing... does anyone else not see this game running in 1080p? With all the jagged lines from the lack of anti-aliasing, it almost looks like this game is running in 480p or something - very disappointing when compared to other PS3 titles I have in 1080p. I turned off 720p and 1080i display modes in my PS3 settings as someone suggested in another topic, but that had no affect on the image quality.

What do you mean no one cares? You know... the first page isn't the ONLY page...

The graphics and physics are still far better than San Andreas and that's the trade off you get- less content. If you want all the other things, you can play San Andreas. I agree this game with all the features of SA would be even more incredible but in my opinion they've still done pretty well with it.

And I never believe the hype certain games seem to get now, that's just the media for you- they are a business after all and they want to SELL!

Modding cars was alright in San Andreas but this time having modding garages and stuff in GTA 4 didn't really fit into the game's storyline, Niko mainly come to Liberty City for revenge not pimping out rides. I'm sure the feature will make a return in a future game when the storyline fits around it.

Dude, that's some serious stupid sh*t.

You do know SA is over 4 years old. If R* HADN'T improved the graphics and physics, they'd be dumping their stock right now.

Graphics/physics and content have nothing to do with one another.

I saw no point in customizing cars.

Why is it stupid? If adding all the extras was so easy, they would be there. I once read, many game companies struggle to break even with many titles and yet people still complain at the amount they have to pay for games, then they complain if a game misses it's release date.

You can't have it all ways.

Um, seriously? Why give you something for free when they can charge you to download it later?

Brucie owns a chop-shop...you're telling me going to Brucie for new rims, paint jobs, and NOS does not make sense or fit into the story? The race guy can't fix cars? It makes too much sense, in fact.

As for not liking it or having fun moding cars, a lot of high-tech criminals use modded cars to aid their getaway from the police, so aside from the fact that a lot of people enjoyed that feature, it is also realistic.

Thi time Rockstar focused on the most important part of the game, the storyline, and I have to say it was a very good one, I really enjoyed it and it was different from the others because it felt like more of a 3 dimensional storyline rather than the previous game's flat storyline consisting of very basic things, this one had some really cool things in it, scenes you would expect in a movie or something. Like one mission where you have to grab a garbage truck and pick up diamonds throughout the city, brilliant.

You got to understand the other stuff is extra's the main thing is the story line and Rockstar succeeded in delivering a great story.

Oh and recintiy, if you want a modded car to the the northeast tip of alderny, there is a Fast and the Furious looking car there, otherwise grab an Infernus, Super GT, Comet, Coquette, Banshee, or Turismo. Oh and some cars do sometimes drive aroudn and are already modded, I have a really modded Sentinel I saw this guy driving and the Sultan RS (the car in alderny) which looks completely modded out.

Actually it becomes pretty clear shortly after you meet Brucie that hes incompetent at tuning cars. Exemplefied by the fact he cant even get his banshee to start.

Of course Brucie could just as easily hire a new mechanic somewhere along the way and open up a mod shop...or they could even patch it in there...
