Can GTA4 be played on a 1080i/p t.v

ok i just set up my t.v on 1080i and in the playstation menu and it is in 1080i in the playstation menu but when i start up the game it goes down to 720p.... i was wondering does GTA4 supports 1080i or is it my t.v

 

i know most games now dont have that support ... ok thanks!

I am playing the game at 1080p.

 

When selecting your display options on the PS3 you need to unselect all the resolutions you don't want. In your case only selct 576 and 1080i.

 

Then you need to make sure that you have upscaling selected.

 

I am kinda disappointed with develpoers as they have clearly put on the specs part of the game box the game runs 720 1080 i and p. This is a lie. The only true 1080p part of the game is the opening credits. Not even the load screen. I have seen this tactic on a few games and even some blu ray films.

 

They should only get to put that on the box if there is a significant part of the content in 1080p.
