jr_tuason11 Posted May 6, 2008 Share Posted May 6, 2008 guys i need help. is it true that you need an HDTV in order for this game to run in xbox360? cause i got one from a different country.. we tested it on my friend's console and it worked fine (btw he's using an hdtv).. when we got home, i played it in my console then after two days, in the middle of a game, the dashboard thing popped out and said, the disc is unreadable. then i called my friend, he found out on a diff store that its required you play it on an hdtv and mine is not an hdtv. pls help. do i really need to buy an hdtv for me to continue playing this game? my other cds are working fine. tnx a lot. I instructed him to either browse through the forum until he found one of the several dozen threads on the exact same subject, OR use the search tool to find the answer. A LOT of people are gettin Unreadable Disc Errors (UDEs) on the 360. It is not because you are not using an HDTV it is because R* f*&^#@ed the game up so it causes freezing on the PS3 and UDEs and other errors on the 360. MoonDawg Posted May 8, 2008 Share Posted May 8, 2008 The TV is responsible for visual only. It should not interfere with your console. Try cleaning the disc or moving your Xbox or something. You said it works on your friend's? Maybe his Xbox is in a more open space. That way the console will function properly. Try that? Hope this can help at all. sattizahn Posted May 8, 2008 Share Posted May 8, 2008 It did it to me the second I put GTA IV in after the midnight release. AND I WAS FIRST IN LINE! I went first thing the next morning to Best Buy and got a brand new 360 with my pre-paid warranty. They also gave me another 5-year warranty for free, which made me happy. It's either the disc, or your disc drive. I would recommend laying your 360 down flat (horizontally) though.
