1craig4
PS3.....Anyone notice that on IGN reader reviews of this game, they are only posted from the 30th, the day after launch? Yet I know, as well as all of you, many people have tried to post reviews stating how disappointing this game is. First off, San Andreas is immensely larger (mabey not as detailed), but they do offer planes which is very fun. The drive by shootings are worthless unless you are stopped for one cannot aim and drive at the same time. The missions are identical to those of previous GTA's which is a letdown for they said from day one the missions would be player choice oriented meaning what you do affects the mission. The missions are just as repetitive as previous GTA's, the new driving controls are horrendous (you can't even control a vehicle while going slow, if it aint broke, don't ficks it-my button is broke-driving controls on previous GTA's worked perfectly). The Anhihilator police chopper is stupid (what police dept uses blackhawks)? And the guns (on the Annihalator) are pointless for you can't aim them unless your diving on something at whcih point you crash. The targeting system is just ridiculously hard to use, for if you want to target someone behind you after targeting 6 guys in front, one must physically turn around and target them at which point your dead already. The only reason the codes have been released so early is because it would be impossible to play this game without them. I think people who officially review these games have been paid off by Rockstar to not post negative reviews about this game so as to sell millions more. I think this game is a HUGE LETDOWN. One that needs to be addressed for what it is. What I've outlined here is only a small portion of the amount of upsets this game has given me. I mean, I spent 600 bucks for the PS3, all the adapters to hook it up to my computer monitor, a couple of games, when I could have bought a new computer for that (almost). I mean the PS3 is limited on what the 360 can do and thats why this game is such a huge let down. Molotiv
damn, Im getting tired of these GTAIVhaters... The game rocks, period. If you dont like it, sell yer console and leave us alone. I like GTAIV, and think its much better then the previous installments in many ways. bye Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/342528-ign-reader-reviews/?do=findComment&comment=1058032534 Share on other sites

1craig4
only one thing to say to these people: "Bitch....please..." I'm guessing you guys are 360 users. I have both systems and there is no difference between the games on each system. That being said, the consumer who is you and I pay a price for our consoles. Sony charges a bit more for the PS3 than the Microsoft does the 360. The Playstation 3 has a much better processor than the 360. Add to that, they also use a Blu-Ray disc which carries a 50gb disc (dual layer) compared to the 360's 30gb (dual layer) disc. Whats more, the PS3 is capable of upgrading its hard drive from 40gb/80gb to whatever SATA drive capacity is out there (I believe right now its is up to 500gb). So, the PS3 is obviously much more capable of holding MUCH more information than the 360, and with the processor, able to make graphics MUCH better than the 360. Unfortunately software companies are limited to making games for both consoles, meaning they have to limit their games to what the 360 can do which isn't much as far as new gaming is concerned. The PS3 charges more because you get more, unfortunately, cheapskates keep buying the 360, keeping a market open for it. Once these software developers are able to tap into the PS3's processor and use it like it was meant to (I give it about another year or so), I believe Sony will take back rights to many games including the GTA series so people may enjoy it the way it should be. Not the way it is now. Which is GTA III, part 2. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/342528-ign-reader-reviews/?do=findComment&comment=1058032695 Share on other sites
werppa
"San Andreas is immensely larger" - New LC is almost 2/3 of SA's size and SA had way too many dead spots (deserts, forests) "The drive by shootings are worthless unless you are stopped for one cannot aim and drive at the same time" - Learn it. I do it all the time, not too hard. "The missions are identical to those of previous GTA's which is a letdown for they said from day one the missions would be player choice oriented meaning what you do affects the mission." - I partly agree with this one, same kind of mission but the whole plot is much more complex and interesting than before. And, you can choose how to eg. kill those people you have to kill. Not that you couldn't in GTA: SA but it's a lot easier now. But, if you dislike these missions, what kind of missions are you looking for in this kind of game? "the new driving controls are horrendous (you can't even control a vehicle while going slow, if it aint broke" - Weird that I can control vehicles, in fact, driving is more realistic than ever before, you just have to learn how to drive and not use h-brake all the time like maniac. "The Anhihilator police chopper is stupid" - Can't say anything about this "The targeting system is just ridiculously hard to use, for if you want to target someone behind you after targeting 6 guys in front, one must physically turn around and target them at which point your dead already" - Yes, I again agree with some parts. The aiming system is a vast improvement, I totally love it. HOWEVER, it sucks if someone is behind you because you have to actually turn your camera onto the shooter. That's why I try to get into covers and stay there. "The only reason the codes have been released so early is because it would be impossible to play this game without them" - Not. I can play without them, I'm a casual player so I can't see any reasons why you couldn't. And about your ps3 vs. Xbox360, it will take years before devs understand PS3 and get full potential out of its processor. Until then, it's on par with Xbox. And future GTA's will use the full power of the ps3, doesnt mean we got a crappy game just because the 360 has less power. Sony always builds its console with the future in mind, its to soon to use the full power of this console. Time will tell, meanwhile im gonna blow sjit up in Liberty City. YEAH!!
