hand2hand
But then R* would sort of be copying Saints Row because Stillwater is based on Chicago and Detroit. Hahahaha! Like Saints Row didn't copy ANYTHING from R*? They took the load from R* and the GTA franchise I think it's only fair if Saints Row gave back a little ^^ But then again, i would like the next gta to be set in London. A bit more like "Green Street Hooligans" would be awesome hahahaha "were the hooligans" hold on , which comic was that? crap i cant remember. .:Alex:.
I think a state including a form of Chicago, Washington DC and another city would be interesting.
gordongekko
Half the gangs across the 50 states either came from LA or Chicago. Check yall sh*t. GD, BPS, VL, LK, all of that. Even New York is filled by LA and Chicago gangs. So some of yall are exposing yourselves for not having any ideal of the gang situation in the US. It seems like some of yall foreigners care more about familiarity than true city crime. Youd rather play in NYC, a safer city than Chicago or some of these other places just as long as you can recognize some of the places. Thats corny to me. Right, because we as Americans should be so goddamn proud to present how corrupt, backwards, and crime laden Chicago really is anyway, Top of my list, I'd love a whole Tokyo-Yakuza themed approach. It could offer a huge city with lots of diversity and an awesome mega-city atmosphere. Second would have to be the greater DC area as some have mentioned. Would offer a great environment to explore and could have an interesting 'shadow government' feel to it, doing lots of missions for shady government organizations and such. Coltrane's Muse
The only reason I know what Chicago is is because of Shaq when he was with the Chicago Bulls. Oh, my goodness. Failure imminent.

acmoore4
I'm from a town not too far from Chicago and spend alot of time in Chicago. I personally don't think it would be the best choice for the next city to spoof. Don't get me wrong, I love Chicago, but alot of the things that make it so wonderful wouldn't necessarily translate well into a game like GTA. It could be done very well and be very fun, but the game would benefit from changing focus a little bit. I think the Yakuza/Tokyo theme is way overdone in media nowadays, I'm just tired of katanas (they aren't THAT cool), I think sort of a pan-European city would be interesting. There is no rule saying that Rockstar has to base there cities on one specific location. A city combining elements of a French, German, English etc. city into one EU metropolis could be very interesting. Keep in mind the original GTA was followed with GTA: London. I just hope they don't go directly to Vice City from here, I would hate to fall into a predictable patten of going from LC to VC to SA over and over again. I think approaching one of the cities in SA individually would be interesting. A completely redone Las Venturas would be fun, I feel like it was glazed over a bit in SA. Perhaps the whole atmosphere of the game could change from R*'s usual "rags to riches" or "revenge on someone from your past" type plot, and focus on theft. It is Grand THEFT Auto, maybe it could be more than just stealing cars? Robbing people, houses, casinos, banks, etc. could be more than just single missions, but a regular part of gameplay. They touched on some of these things in SA, but again, felt glazed over. I enjoy GTA4 much more than SA but I feel SA put forth alot of good ideas that were never fully explored. Food for thought.
