z89x23
Hi Guys, I would like to know if i can low the car height of the car.. I like the muscle car Phoenix but even if I change the wheels from the shop it still looks like an off road car, with fancy wheels.. I would like to lower it down a bit to look more street racing.. Thanx..
Supra4
You sure can. All that data is stored in the handling.cfg file. PHOENIX 1500.0 4000.0 2.2 0.0 0.3 -0.15 85 0.7 0.9 0.52 5 200.0 26.0 5.0 R P 6.0 0.55 0 30.0 0.8 0.08 0.0 0.28 -0.24 0.59 0.4 0.25 0.50 35000 2800 200000 1 1 0 It's the orange bit that decides the ride height. Changing it from -0.24 to -0.14 will lower the car by 10cm. You may want to use a different value than that to get it according to your liking. However as you lower the ride height, the car will develop a tendency to scrape. To counter that, increase the spring rate (red) a bit, preferrably in 0.1 increments. Same with the dampers (green), abeit with 0.01 increments.
z89x23
Thanx mate.. To counter that, increase the spring rate (red) a bit, preferrably in 0.1 increments. Supra4
I'm not really sure what you're asking. It's -0.24 in the phoenix line, but other cars will most likely have other values in this column (all are negative tho, so they're easy to spot)
z89x23
Its regarding the values in the spring rate and the dampers.. If I put lets say -0.23 for the car height, the spring rate should be 0.9 and the dampers 0.09 and so on.. Am I right ?? Thanx..
Supra4
Not really. You can lower the car without adjusting the spring rates and dampers. Most of the time that will work just fine, but I've known it to cause problems with the phoenix due to the amount of bodyroll it has. You'll get loads of sparks in every corner as the body scrapes the road. That's why I suggested stiffening up the suspension as well. How much you edit the values is entirely to your liking. Here's how I'd handle it : 1 ) lower the car to your preferred ride height. 2 ) test it ingame, see if it starts creating sparks in corners or on mild bumps. If it does, go to step 3 . If it doesn't, you're all done. 3 ) increase springrate and damper values. 4 ) go to step 2 You'll need to exit the game every time you want to change any value in the handling.cfg and restart it afterwards. But that's just the way these things go. To set up any car's handling line, I generally start and exit the game about 40 to 50 times. So be sure to have the Phoenix in the garage closest to your save point.

To set up any car's handling line, I generally start and exit the game about 40 to 50 times I've made a tool to change your vehicle's handling through memory, no need to exit and restart the game anymore. And in posts above is very well explained, just do the same for any other car, the values will be different but they'll be in the same columns.
