Carbine23
Official History Of Liberty City Topic So, this topic is for the history of GTA4's Liberty City. If you watch TV in your safehouse, there's a history channel dedicated to the history of Liberty City. I have no idea how long the channel is because i've only watched a few minutes of it. If someone could tell me the years and how long the show is, then that would be great. I'm guessing it goes from the early 1700's to the 1900's (Hopefully). I plan on making a timeline or a bulletin board for historical things that have happened in Liberty City. I'm going to list the ones i remember, and you can add on to the list. Historical Facts about Liberty City 1. A popular attraction in Liberty City was watching animals f*ck each other 2. You could buy a boy off the street for a few pennies (or something like that) 3. The maps were so sh*tty back then, that people took so long to get from one place to another 4. Liberty City was founded by the Dutch 5. Liberty City was promised to be a city of pleasure, entertainment, roller coasters and fun. Edited May 4, 2008 by Carbine23
Carbine23
Bump. Come on people, this could be fun to do! The history channel in GTA4 is actually pretty freakin hilarious. We should trace the cities roots down. Here's some more info i collected 1. When ruled by the Dutch, Liberty City was called New Rotterdamn 2. In the mid 1600's (i think 1664), British ships came into the city, requesting to control it from the Dutch. They promised that citizens wouldn't have to brush their teeth if they ruled the city. They then changed it to Liberty City. 3. Broker was named after the Bastard Kings nephew (i think. It's hard to remember everything) 4. Dukes was named for the borough north because the people there smelled like sh*t. 5. Bohan was named because Bohan is actually a Dutch word meaning "Dutch Word" lol. 6. Alderney was named after a king i think who loved to be with soccer moms and waste dumps (industrial zone i suppose). 7. Algonquin was named after the native inhabitants 8. Citizens started attacking British soldiers because of the high taxes.
