Game sure is short?

SA storyline can be beaten as fast as IV

There's much more to do in San Andreas to make the game seem longer. With this GTA there isn't much at all...Story, police chases...wow

How much of that time was driving over vast areas of desert and countryside, asking why the hell Rockstar included this vast, bland wasteland that if you lost your car in the middle of it, you would reset the PS2/Xbox because it just took too reach anywhere worth seeing?

 

I prefer GTA IV for the lack of that certain feature of San Andreas oh so much.

 

And as stated before San Andreas' main story can be completed in 30hrs.

Yeah, they have about the same amount of missions. I think you were just playing slower .

well sa does have much more activitys than iv does and as i say i didnt play sa as much as iv

but gta took alot out of iv that was on sa

planes, skills, lots of clothes shops, casinos, gangs [iV theres like 2 thats it] and a bit more

all that was traded for better graphics hiding and a few diffrent guns

But if you take out all the stupid missions that a gangster jsut about managing to survive in the ghettos of LA would never find themselves doing, and the game would ahve taken about 6 hours.

 

And my play time for GTA4 is now 22 hours and I'm still in Broker/Bohan. So, it's not the game.

i think iv is waay better than sa the missions are fun and when you mess about in the city its more fun i think sa was a great game but iv makes some aspects of gta better. i think this game seemed shorter beacuse as the old saying goes time flys when your having fun i mean i play this game for 3 hours and it feels like 10 mins

Exactly, I spent like 4 hours yesterday just cruising through Broker, it felt like only about 30 mins. The city feels so alive its amazing. I never finished SA but just finished IV in 36hours (incl. 4 hours of just cruising). It might be shorter but its so much better.

Don't forget that the new GTA has DLC, therefore we could see a lot more missions added to the game

Yeah and I bet the next gta in the IV-era will have all those tiny things from SA too again. Anyways, I love the game and don't thing it's too short. BTW you say SA had skills and stuff but don't forget IV has multiplayer !

I dunno what you're smoking. It took me 28 hours to beat IV, it takes me around 25 hours to beat SA.

Anyone who thinks this game is short probably hasn't played many video games.

 

The storyline of this game is much longer than most games I've played. And when side missions and hidden packages etc. are added, it's even longer.

San andreas is longer

San Andreas seemed longer, because it covered a wider space (and possibley had more characters, but I can't be sure), but a lot of it was padding, and very unrealistic (since when did a man go from Gangsta, to Petty Country Robber, to Slick City Assasain, to Desert Airplane Strip Owner, to Casino Lackey (and then Casino boss), back to Gangsta.

 

See, you went from A to A going through B, C, D, E and F (of which maybe C and F were fun, although uncharacteristic). What was the point?

 

In IV you go from A to A+ (always keeping in character, and yet covering the same ground in total as San Andreas).

Being able to use a taxi to get across the city instantly makes the game much, much shorter. SA seemed longer because you actually no choice but to drive from one end of the map to the other.
