redwolf206
One thing that slightly disappointed me was the lack of a chainsaw... I miss it. But other than that little thing and a few others, I love the game and it definitely deserves the scores it's been getting.

It's 27 missions in, actually. That doesn't include Brucie's, as he isn't required storyline missions.
cntk
it's a partial let down. they kept out a bunch of activities that made the last gtas fun, and although this one feels like a step forward in some ways, in others it's not. once you're done with all the missions you'll know what i mean. AnimaOnline
GTA IV is fantastic.. Its hard to say a bad word about it.. Shame i can't say the same for multiplayer... Me and a group of other guys agree that multiplayer is a huge let down. They should have spent less time thinking up game types and more time making free play a lot more like singleplayer. Personally I think the game modes other than free player and death match are ok to play but are either unfair, too short or completely random. Either way its still a great game and i guess it is Rockstars first try at GTA Online.

Capricornus
The driving in GTA IV is the best out of all the GTA's in my honest opinion. I absolutely love the driving mechanics, and have done so since I first started drving in in the game. I was reading about some of the fags crying over the driving because they broke a nail and what not. They just suck at driving. I actually prefer this driving in GTA IV over the driving in the past GTA's. But that's just me.

DGK is good
You unlock the next part of the city after Dimitri and his thugs burn down your cousins business and your safe house burns down. You can access the Internet Dating after Roman tells you to go activate an E-mail account at a Internet Cafe. Just reached Algonquin yesterday, and all I can say is WOW !! Seriously, I had been loving the game up until that point, and had been very impressed with Broker/Dukes/Bohan, but they kind of paled into insignificance once I reached the 'city' It's just staggering !! I took a Heli-tour...it was awesome. Haven't even begun the story missions on that island yet, and it doesn't look like it's gonna be happening anytime soon either This game is a masterpiece of technical freakin awesomeness !!! Your point here is rather moot as that's the case with ALL gta's. Especially GTA III and VC. Even in SA, the only thing even REMOTELY interesting thing to do after the missions is finishing the takeover of Los Santos (turf wars). I didn't even take half of the territories and I got extremely bored with it. Seriously, in ALL of the past GTA's what else is there to do (that's somewhat interesting) other than to f*ck around? *Car cusomizations? Had fun with that maybe once or twice and never bothered with it again. *The gym? Just plain lame and not fun. *Taking over territories? Got boring very quickly without even half taken over. They should've included the other two cities. Not just Las Santos. *Buying property? Seriously, I don't understand why so many people bitch about that. What else was there to do with property other than to save your game? What other safe houses do you need other than the ones GTA IV already gives you? Waste of disk space if you ask me. *Tanks, parachutes and that stupid jet pack. I was a little dissapointed for about 5 minutes after first reading about their absense (minus the jet pack, I was glad from the very start of its removal). Then I understood the direction R* was taking with this game...and now I'm glad they were removed. I could go on, but you get the point. There was very little to do after the missions in SA. And the stuff that was there, wasn't interesting or fun. I don't understand why some of you are just now complaining about this. It's been that way ever since GTA III. And what the hell ever happened to multiplayer? Edited May 4, 2008 by Machinehead155
DrAKeN3D
GTA4 is awesome, not doubt about it.... but how much does Euphoria weights in the balance ? I think we forget that Euphoria is a big part of the succes and we should give credit to the people who created it... remove Euphoria from GTA4 and I believe the fun factor drops by 50% !!!! Nice job R* and two thumbs up to Euphoria !!!
Bboighst48
this game lacks that fun factor san andreas or the other gta games had.. bottom line is that R* focused too much on realism and took out all the fun stuff from past gta's with their lame excuses. hell i would have still liked planes even if u could get across the city too fast. this game is a 8/10 imo. Story is the only good thing about it.

ackery
yeah if they ahd everything they had before and more it would OBVIOUSLY be better becasue how can it not be? but then it would have hundreds of loading screens, lag, woudl be on like 3 disks, and still wouldnt be out for another year or so? but this one is definately better, but i agree wihtout MP free roam that is, that it lacks the fun free roam factor, but i think for a first the free roam online is good. just get some good friends on there and its great. cntk
this one is definitely the best gta so far, especially as far as the campaign goes, it's just underwhelming in certain ways... but the multiplayer is a decent, fun addition. free mode with a couple of friends, race and cops n crooks are great. wish they would've kept the minigames and other sh*t in multiplayer free mode though. KieranMurphy
Yeah, San Andreas was great because once you got 100% you could spend all your time getting tattoos, spraying cars different colours, putting different tyres on your cars, changing your clothes, getting haircuts, repeatedly tapping the X button in the gym etc. That was like, awesome, and way more fun than the car chases and cop battles. Do you know what I've done in GTAIII, Vice City and San Andreas after getting 100%? Had fun by creating havoc, killing people, blowing up cars and trucks, jacking and smashing up cars, flying around in helicopters, exploring the cities, finding good spots to go killing rampages, etc. And the same things are still in this game, so yay for that! There's loads of proper GTA fun to be had in this game. Maybe I'm weird, but I find driving around and having the cops chase me and running over people a lot more fun than putting an afro on your character or putting stupid wheels on a car I'm just going to turn into a flaming wreck anyway. Not weird at all. Thats the beauty of GTA IV and all of them. And with GTA IV's Liberty City you get to run around in the most detailed city to date. PurplePerson07
My only problem with IV is the lack of melee weapons, the only melee weapons in the game are the knife and baseball bat, and objects that you can pick up. R* could of at least included a few more melee weapons like, machete, chainsaw, or even a tazer. I bet some of the DLC is going to be extra melee weapons. R* is obviously trying to go in a different direction with GTA and I'm SO glad for that. The franchise needs it. Taking the exact same formula that worked in the past and just adding a bunch of useless stuff does not a great game make.
