Ambulance Drivers

I don't know if you've noticed but say you shoot someone (a rare occasion in GTA IV I know) and an ambulance comes, I notice that the driver drives all over the place, smashing into cars, walls, signs anything in the way really, like he is drunk! I find it frustrating though because I think is great that an ambulance turns up but half that time they never get anywhere near the deceased to help them, but then I suppose there is no point helping a dead man.

Lol...sometimes they help, sometimes they kill.

I think it's a lot better than SA. Half they time they would stop their ambulance on the person they were trying to revive. I think it improved a lot more from the last games.

The one time I stood to watch an ambulance driver help a shooting victim of mine, the paramedic walked up to him, crouched down, kept saying stuff like "stay with me," and then just walked away and left the body there, lifeless.

 

Are the only "salvageable" people the ones who are laying there subtly squirming, or can the paramedics revive fully dead, lifeless people too?

I don't know. Once NB went drinking with Jacob and as we were pissed falling over Jacob got run over by a car, I got a screen message saying 'Your Friend has been injured'. So I thought, I'll call for an ambulance, I did 911 etc and no ambulance came, i waited but nothing, so i 911 again this time ambulance came but got stuck behind a car and kept trying to go forward into this car which wouldn't move the ambulance never thought to reverse and he was right by poor drunk Jacob on the floor! Anyway I was pissed off so I just drove away to let them deal with it, got a message telling me to pick him up from hospital.
