KieranMurphy
A huge part of the appeal of the GTA games is their satirical look at American pop culture and having games set in cites based on what we know and love from movies and TV. Having it set in Manchester or Vancouver or Addis Ababa or whatever would be crap and completely not in the spirit of the series. And to those who want the game set in Niko's home country, are you serious? Grand Theft Auto: Belgrade. Yeah, that'd be like, awesome. Thinking about it a bit, I'd like to see Las Venturas done again with the current game engine. A plotline involving casinos, the Strip, the mob, gambling, etc. That could make for a great game and again, it's a perfect setting for the kind of satire and references to American culture that Rockstar have done so well. I don't know how they'd handle a desert city though - they can't really put it on islands to put an outer boundary on the game world. I'm sure they could think of something though. Royal55
I don't know how many times I have to say this because It makes the most sense, Vice City and San Andreas will be remade In downloadable content form. This Is why there wll be two DLC's for GTAIV. This would then give Rockstar the opportunity to make an entirely new game come GTAV or whenever they decide to throw out another sequel. Mark my words It will happen come August or when they feel It's right to announce It. This Is the most logical DLC and Is worth fifty million dollars for sure. I don't know what they'll do for PS3 users, maybe give It to them later on In the year or something. Rockstar stated that this game Is meant to last and surely It's not going to last with just one city and a few downloadable missions to add to the story. They need a few new cities that give a new feel to GTA like GTAIII did to Vice City, enough said.
Mallrat
Lazlow said in an interview posted on the main page of GTAIV.net that he slightly prefers the 360 version because of the extra missions the DLC gives you. so, again. NO. they are not, NOT going to be making new cities for the DLC. do people HONESTLY think Rockstar are going to actually expect people to download about 20 gig worth of stuff? Secondly, what's the point? Pay a little for DLC that only half your audience can get and put THAT much effort into it? Jesus, people are so naive. StanMarsh
Carcer City would be cool. A mock up of Washington DC, Baltimore, and Philly in one area would be sweet as well.

LeperFace
GTAIV: Mars 3012 Set in the future with much HIGHER and more powerful and bizarre technology, on Mars after terraforming it, 1000 years after the 2012 prophecy came true and we were attacked by outside forces. Now you can go to several planets and commit crimes in a FUTURE setting, where there are far more things to do that are illegal, instead of being stranded in one place. That would set an awesome platform for a lot of conspiracy stuff and sci fi, and I bet Rockstar could even make it seem fitting, interesting, and "hip" even when compared to current times. pathsofglory
If they did Vice City, it would be boring. Miami was at its most interesting point in the 80's, now its just another city. I'd like to see a futuristic GTA, or like someone before me posted, a middle eastern one. Actually Miami still has one of the highest murder rate, I mean have you seen "the first 48" on a&e. The mafia is still there, lots of street crime. It is not another city. I know because I live in Little Havana in Miami.

wildhalcyon
I think the most likely candidates are LA, DC, or Las Vegas. DC/Baltimore could be interesting though. If they didn't mind changing their format or angle, I could picture GTA Belgrade, Dublin, London, or Tokyo. A Neo-Tokyo setting could be good, inspired by films like Minority Report and I Robot. There's still space for American pop culture in a +50 year future.
Mad Tony
They said that they used Liberty City again for this game because they didn't do it justice with GTA3, as it didn't really resemble the look or feel of New York that closely. So I doubt they will use Vice City again. Yeah. Vice City did represent Miami well and San Andreas did resemble California/Nevada well. I have serious doubts that they'll ever return to Vice City or San Andreas.

Southside Dukes Ballas
My candidates go like this. A GTA state based off of cities based around Baltimore, Philly, DC and Virginia Beach and that could bring back the building of the criminal empire aspect and you play a black drug dealer. My 2nd choice would be a Mid West based GTA with a state with cities based off of Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit and Kansas City and that could bring back the gangbaning aspect and then you move from gangbaning to a criminal empire building. Also since I beleve Carcer City is based off Detroit then this would be the perfect place for Carcer City. Or a city based off Chicago alone with the gangbaning aspect or Carcer alone. My next pick would be a GTA based in a state based off the Southern US states by the border and then we could actually go into Mexico and then you play a Mexican for the 1st time and the drug running criminal empire aspect is the focus. After that I would love a return to SA or VC with SA either taking place at present time or in the 70s. If it takes place at present time then you play a black or a Mexican but if it's in the 70s then I think you should play an Italian mobster. If they go back to VC then it should be in either present time or the 70s/80s. If it's present time then you play a Hatian drug runner but if its the 70s/80s you play a Cuban emmigrant. I can easily think of a hundred cool places to go and scenarios for the net GTAs.

Oasis!
I'm not sure whether we will see another GTA on the next gen consoles. I think a lot more will be made of the DLC that what some people think and that they will be huge and certainly more than just guns n clothes. This is not to say that I'm expecting a new city or island because I dont per se. What I am expecting however is this game to continue over the next two installments (DLC). I fell gameplay features would be added and the story continued. I know this is just a theory of mine and many people will disagree. I don't feel there is another city with truly enough appeal as New York. Sure people say Tokyo but really what is there of enormous interest Tokyo??Not being ignorant but we all know New York and whilst we know Tokyo is bright and glitzy I don't think it has the appeal of New York, nowhere near as diverse. The only city that is as diverse, or the closest to it, is London. But I think the city in IV is incredible and so everything that would maybe be put into future titles should be included in the DLC. London is in a different country. The closest thing to New York would be another big American city like Chicago or something. You do know that you're an idiot?
