Magic_Al
It's very rare in a GTA game that something as large as a ship can move rather than be part of the fixed scenery. I'm wondering how Rockstar did the opening of GTA IV. We get the impression of the ship Platypus sailing into the harbor but is the ship actually moving in the 3D engine? Or is it just the camera moving? I think it's possible there are two Platypus models, one out at sea where camera movements create the impression the ship is moving, and one at the dock. Thoughts? Theories?
mupet0000
It could easily be scripted movement.
MrCarmine
yeah i think R* said at some point that 70% of the trailers was live gameplay footage, so that could mean that certain parts of some trailers and even the actual game aren't running live on the engine. i wish i had thought of that when i started playing, i would have paid more attention to the boat. when i start my game on 360 i'll be sure to check it out.
