I have killed like 100 pedestrians while driving a Hummer last week, but managed to escape from police. Good for you bro. keep up the good work. i am not saying underage people do crime because of the game im saying MOST underage people are useless little asshats who get on my f*cking nervers posting all there sh*t on the forums and thinking they are clever about it. sorry but i cant stand immature people who have no reason for being immature apart from there age. .......... that clear things up for ya? There are a lot of reasons for me to think that 12yo Iraq boys, who try to make a living and help the family are more mature than most of the 18yo+ American solders stationed there( considering their deeds). For me it's normal to see how 7-8 year old watch 14+ movies with a lot of violence, play Hitman BM, rated 18+. But the thing is - they are not becoming violent and the ones I know do not spam internet boards (maybe only because of language barrier). The true criminals at that age rarely play computer games, they already go to street to fight. It is all to parents to decide: is this game appropriate for their children or not. I don't know how it is in the Western countries, but here movie and game ratings are ignored altogether. Had to agree with this guy. If your 12, 19, 27. Whats the difference? Your still playing a game. True. How can you say you shot someone cause you did it on GTA? That just makes you look completely retarded, and your parents look like they did/doing a awful job. I'm 17, for the record. People that do go violent and do that crap we see on the news at ten, mostly associate with the wrong people at a younger age, and no it was not on GTA, it was on the playground. If anything, parents can just say "It's keeping my kids of the street, and keeping them safe." Those people who do the crap you see on T.V. are "sheep's". Most people blame video games for violence because it is a liable "scapegoat" in which the environment can happen anywhere; but I doubt it if a kid who grows up in a well to-do family and plays GTA may become a kill-crazy psycho. If it's true then I should be a kid that goes into underground fights with Hip Hop celebrities (Def Jam series) BTW: I'm 16 and I have been playing GTA for seven years now since GTA2 came out, and it really never affected me, except that violence is a bad idea in the real world. If you're mentaly stable and know the difference between real life and a video game,why couldn't you play IV? If your not mature enough to know the difference between right and wrong then you should not be allowed the play the game and if you are immature or retarded then your parents are to blame at the end of the day. alot of kids get stressed when they die in a game and that results in violence smashing there consoles,hitting there siblings or parents. really some kids are that immature they will cry and scream if there moms wont buy them this game and they will do it untill they get it. in this case the child has no control and is immature thus should not get the game. as for grown men who get frustrated with games they are more immature then the children and also should not be allowed to play the game also. as alot of people have said this is a game i could careless if a 5 yr old plays the game aslong as he dont come posting rubbish on the forums and talking aload of nonsence its a real headache to read. if you cant be constructive and mature dont freaking post. And just because 'everybody's doing it', doesn't make it right, for instance the rating on movies and stuff. Parents that are responsible will at least take the rules seriously enough to consider it before allowing their kids to do something, and not just say okay, go get out of my hair, or whatever makes you happy. When I was a kid I couldn't even watch certain tv programs and others like James Bond movies were frowned upon. Of course this does not make a kid a pervert or a killer, but the goal is to keep the adult media out of the minds of kids who aren't as mature minded as the other ones are. And I'm not immature (I think... ) I was talking to somebody who said he was gonna get GTAIV for his 8 year old. And I was just saying... No. I think most 13-14 year olds and maybe 12 year olds can handle it. Its nothing they don't know about, and it depends how sensible they are, but there is ALOT of stuff in that game that an 8 year old shouldn't know about. I think the 18+ rating (it IS an 18 in the UK, just a 17+ in the US) is fine. Kids will play it, and the vast majority are sensible and don't go out killing people as a result. Violent games are used as scapegoats. People blame them, and use it to just shift the blame so that it doesn't look like its their fault. Man, they have it rated 15+ in Australia (even though they cut content out). I think it would have been sensible to try to aim for a worldwide 15+ rating, though I guess people like Jack Thomson would have a field day with it.
