monicasgo
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/33469.html?type= A HD comparisons video. This is the most in-depth and fair comparison video to date. I don't care if this has been posted already but there is no question anymore, the 360 version is superior. The graphics are sharper there are less pop-ins and the draw distance is greater. I HAVE and own a PS3 and I can accept that the 360 version looks better. PS3 owners open your eyes. Its like a big elephant sitting down at the table and your just denying its even there. I'm not saying the 360 is better then the ps3 just on this particular game it definitely is. END
Uglulyx
Ya 360 freezes less too. For GTA IV atleast.

-nikobellic-
Yeah I have a PS3 and it has framerate issues while driving. I dunno about x360 tho.
PB&James
It's all subjective, regardless. PS3 owners will only see flaws with the 360 version. 360 owners will only see flaws with the PS3 version. Nothing will end the war except new consoles.
defibrillator
I think this particular video is fake. I own a ps3 and a 360 but I bought this game for the 360 because of downloadable content. I think someone is using a video filter on one side of the particular line. I don't know how they can match frame for frame like they are doing and constantly switch which part is 360 and which is ps3. If it was constantly on the left and right of the line it would make sense. But just in the opening part, it switches from horizontal to vertical to horizontal, etc. and It seems to me like they are adding a filter to it to make it look worse. Either way it doesn't matter. If you have a ps3 you buy it for that, if you have a 360 you buy it for that.
SlackulatoR
except new consoles. So the new wars can begin.
Trigger90
Its not your problem unless you have both consoles tbh, because if you dont have both you cant really give a fair and balanced argument.
Ash_Killem
fanboys wars will never end both systems will get updates to improve gameplay a lot of the game sites are bias to xbox b'c they are paid off. MS has made it clear their trying to fight off ps3 before it gains too much. sony just won the format war (blu ray v. hddvd) so they'll need a little time before their ready for another fight. I hate xbox always have and propably always will... ps3 will prolly kill 360 just like ps2 killed xbox which is why ms is trying so hard and sony doesn't have to do anything
linedraw
I don't see how just because Xbox 360's graphics are clearer makes them better all around.

stingray.
I don't know what the big difference is. At first I thought the PS3 version was slightly jagged, but then I went to my friend's house, who happens to own a 360, and graphic-wise both were pretty similar, except a few things here and there. Emotion98.3
lol. Did you see that GetALife Building in the PS3 Version, it blinked, probably just some framerate issues. Besides each console has there own pros and cons
Bboighst48
LOL i own both versions... the PS3 has way more framerate issues then the 360 version. and the 360 version does look better. /thread.
kbelkus
I've played the game on both, 360 and PS3. I own a PS3 version and my brother plays the 360 version. There is little or no difference between them. Any difference you do see if probably just because it's two different renderers. 360 = DX9 PS3 = OpenGL. When developing the game Rockstar would have factored in both consoles floors, PS3 having slower optical reading with Blu-ray... hence the cache to HDD before playing. Also the PS3 doesn't have shared memory like the 360 so it's slower for the data to get from the RAM to the VRAM, unlike the 360 it's all shared. However, the 360 only has one shader pipeline on the GPU unlike the PS3 which has two, which is not very popular at the moment but it's a lot faster.... ( 1 pipeline = one shader set at a time 2 pipelines = 2 shaders can be set at the same time) All the fanboys need to just get on and play the game.... you've got it at long last just enjoy it... Ego
I own both consoles, I don't have a preference when it comes down to graphics etc because over and above everything else the PC obliterates them and always will. I bought IV on PS3 for the sole reason that I know my console won't f*ck up whilst I am playing a game I have anticipated for so long. My 360 has had the RROD twice and although Microsoft fixed it very quickly both times, it's a hassle I can't be going on with. I also don't understand why everyone tries to defend the consoles so much (PS3 or 360), are you being slipped money by Mr Gates too?

Slamman
The main downside for PS3 is small stop and go during many animations at fast pace. This is something they'll need more polish for. There really is nothing more to detract from my own enjoyment. I'll buy it for PC and maybe GTA5 on Xb360 when I have one. I did buy Saints Row 1 last week so I am serious in owning both consoles eventually. Won't change my controller preference overnight Ya 360 freezes less too. For GTA IV atleast. Not for me, I dont own a 360 but I do own a 60 gb PS3 and can tell you for a fact that I noticed no framerate issues or freezes whatsoever. GTA4 plays great own my PS3 ^See above. Depends on the level of onscreen action. It does freeze all the action on screen for a second or less, but it happens frequently enough to accept that you'll have to plan your action to avoid any problems. This happens with police chases and obviously, you don't want to foil your getaway. Sorry to doublepost, but I'm being unbiased. The laid back color palatte is a non issue because it depends on the playback device more then the game coding. There are settings in display section I personally applaud being included Sorry if this doubleposts, but I want to maintain for the record, no freezups required a reboot as they did in Uncharted. Luckily Uncharted's few freezeups seem more disc related then code. Edited May 3, 2008 by Slamman
Nabbesnabb
It's hardly a noticeable difference, if you really, REALLY look close, you can see the 360 is a bit better on the sharpness and color, but it's such a small difference you wont notice it unless you look hard for it. It's nothing. This stupid fanboy war gotta stop sometime, it's just embarrassing to mankind.
flyinhawaiian
Sorry, but one video with no credibility won't change the fact that PS3>360. My friend came over to play on his 360 while me on my PS3 and, while not obvious, the PS3 definetely looks and runs better.
pablo82
Looks like the 360 version is better imo, this coming from a PS3 owner. Im going to wait for final judgement when i play the DLC on my m8s 360, which could be some time i guess. Im compensated with the knowledge that I don't have to pay for online though so
