IHEARTGTAIV Posted May 3, 2008 Share Posted May 3, 2008 is anyone else experiencing this? every time i play for like 10 minutes it says sorry this disc is unreadable. i've already exchanged the disc once because of this problem and now it happened again! do you have any suggestions? Try doing the system cache bye clicking memory is he system blade, Slecting devices hilighting HDD and pressing "yyxx LB RB xx" It will say "Are you sure you want to beform maintinence" Click yes, Hope it works for you. xXGTAPHREAKXx Posted May 3, 2008 Share Posted May 3, 2008 Chances are it is your disc drive, to be specific, the magnet inside of it. There is a little magnet on the little ring that spins the disc, this magnet will pull down a piece of steel that holds the disc down and prevents it from spinning off. As time ages the disc drive, the manget may become loose, if it does, it sticks onto the top of the case. I have had this happen a few times with different xbox consoles, you will need to glue the magnet back into the turntable. However, I'm guessing you don't know how to open the xbox 360 (it's not f*cking easy), I would advise you just buy a new one or send yours in. xXGTAPHREAKXx Posted May 3, 2008 Share Posted May 3, 2008 It could also be the inner laser in the xbox 360, it gets dirty over time, and is impossible to clean. However, to replace that or the disc drive in whole will cost a few hundred clams, and you would have to know how to flash the drive so it can be compatible with the xbox 360. That in itself is complicated as hell, I have done in a few times and it is really hard to figure out which codes are supposed to go where. First off there not scratches there marks, so all you've got to is wipe the marks off the disk with a damp paper towel and it will be fine.
