Are Cheats Good?

I remember when playing GTA SA, I used a lot of cheats. But when I got near finishing, I got messages warning me when I saved the game. Eventually, I think the cheats caused it to break.

 

Now, can I use cheats for GTA IV and save the game or will it effect it? I haven't used any cheats so far and I'm 20% done. Do you think I'll do fine without them?

Some cheats will block some achievements, and if you keep using them they will eventually f*ck up your game/disc.

If you wan't to prevent this, but still wan't to cheat, do NOT save your game after using cheats!

IIRC, in SA you could see how many cheats you have used in the menu, can you see the amount of cheats you used on IV?

 

I only used about 3 cheats so far with 25% done and thats the health cheat.

Yes you can. Shows in the stats.

The only cheats I've used are the "No Wanted Level" and "Health & Armor" codes, and my game is still fine. Losing those achievements don't bother me.

Use cheats when u are just messing around Liberty City but not during missions, i mostly use cheats when i want a quich heli to get on top of a building or just fly around the city

I think you should only really think about cheats when u have completed the game. It gives the game an extra dimension for a while. If you use them before it kinda defeats the challenge of the game.

I fail to understand how cheats intentionally placed in the game for us to find... can possibly "f*ck up the disc".
