Well you can drive and shoot...it's alot like deathmatch...actually it's EXACTLY LIKE DEATHMATCH. Except you get no points, and there is no time limit. beardedbastard Posted May 3, 2008 Share Posted May 3, 2008 Just to be perfectly clear: -no buying things of any kind: weapons, food, clothing -no minigames of anykind: bowling, darts, pool -no mini missions of anykind: vigilante, taxi, picking up hookers -no getting drunk of anykind: walking, driving, fighting But on the bright side health and weapons are scattered around the city for you to pick up...just like DEATHMATCH!!! thor1to3for5 Posted May 3, 2008 Share Posted May 3, 2008 It is kind of pointless really. It is an unranked scoreless deathmatch. Nothing more. You can't get drunk, play mini games, or see shows. Draybees Posted May 4, 2008 Share Posted May 4, 2008 I think the free roam mode is very nice, if you have a bunch of guys who would go by the rules that's agreed upon the players then it could be a very fun mode! The firefights are one of the most awesome things about free mode if you ask me. I've spent hours with friends trying to find the best areas to have a shootout in. Usually somewhere with cover, a wall to back up against and a good view on where the cops are coming from... preferably near a health pack of body armor. One of my favourite areas is under the arch, the one shown in the leaked gameplay footage, and in tha gif showing the popup bugs. Stick two cars across the front and you've got an awesome view down the hill as you cause chaos. Park a few cars for extra cover, fill up on ammo and away you go. Pretty hard reaching 6 stars, but fun as hell to try. It's a bit like the bank job mission, but multiplayer... and anywhere. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I like to explore the city (Look for enterable buildings that I can use in ranked game modes) and of course get a bunch of friends and do a co-op cop getaway against the 6 starred cops.
