Gog Posted May 3, 2008 Share Posted May 3, 2008 (edited) Any word on a patch for the PS3? With all the freeze-ups & stuff, I hope Rockstar does something soon. And now I have a new problem. I can't load up the games. It sits there on the Loading screen & does nothing. I tried restarting the Ps3 & it worked. But every time my PS3 starts up, same thing. Now, even a restart is not working. I'm very pissed. Edit: Oh, also want to mention, I had my first freeze-up today. And the load up problem is happening with my friend's game too. So, I know I'm not alone. EDIT AGAIN: To save people some time, people have recommended to disconnect from the network before loading up the game. Should work then. Haven't tried it yet. I'm at the "chase train in car" mission, and the last save point was "Blow your Cover"...if that makes a difference. I guess I'll have to delete my save info, and start from scratch.... EDIT: OK the above poster had the right idea...I disabled PS network and now it works....weak. But thanks for info... Whenever I want to play online I just play the game for 30 minutes and then I log on back to PSN. It usually loads with no problems after that. I played the game for 3 hours last night, and it ran great. Just hoping to god something else doesn't go wrong. Atleast it's happening to so many people, so we can try to resolve this issue quickly, and effectively. Guess we gotta live with this rank resetting and connectivity issues for a bit I don't honestly think a company as big as Take-Two (or Rockstar, for that matter), could afford to have so many players complain. So many people bought the game solely for the multiplayer function, which has now just been made completely inactive for anyone who wants to play the singleplayer game. I expect a patch, or at least a possible fix, tomorrow (monday). This only started happening to me when i altered the the default display settings in game. The game would freeze for no reason and sometimes when loading my save etc. All i done was reset to default display settings and i have had no issues since. I just disconnect the internet in Network Settings, load up the game and it works. Today however it worked with the internet on, although I was only on it for about 30 mins. Anyway my GTA IV online profile is stuck! i cant level up and it just says "$1000" left to level up! its pissin me off... but... the single player is just legendary! If rockstar can sort out the freezin and the online freezin this game will... well... i dont know how to say it... its just AMAZING! SO YOU CAN'T PLAY MULTIPLAYER, BUT WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE A GAME WHICH WORKS OFFLINE THAN NOT AT ALL.
