boogernut Posted May 3, 2008 Share Posted May 3, 2008 Ok, I have a PS3..... and it had only froze once, until today when it froze for the second time. Except, now when i start the game, it goes through the whole artwork loading sequence then goes to the black screen that says "Loading-- mission name" .... EXCEPT IT NEVER LOADS IT!!! has anybody else had this problem/why is this happening? R* really has to start fixing some of this crap, the game is decent and all, not as good as expected for me but that's ok, but all this freezing and stuff really sucks! Algonquin Assassin Posted May 3, 2008 Share Posted May 3, 2008 This problem has affected many people, including myself. Dis-connect your internet cable. It has something to do with the PSN. For god's sake DON'T delete anything though. I feel gutted when I deleted my 12+ hour saved gane, to find out it was just the internet cable I only had to take out. Wilddtd Posted May 3, 2008 Share Posted May 3, 2008 I believe this has something to do with the downloaded content that occurs when you first load the game, the very first time. To make it easier for the game, it has downloaded features to your harddrive, so in between those two things you can imagine a lot of problems could occur, not only from the game but from the HDD as well. I remember hearing some rumors about this game being able to kill a system, but I'm sure those were just rumors. Hopefully this is not a glitch that will plague the entire community, knock on wood. GTA Life Posted May 3, 2008 Share Posted May 3, 2008 Oh wow I thought I was the only one. Yeah I was playing fine!..I played the other night just fine! And I'm not too far into the game, I just onlocked the second island where you know you had to follow that one guy through the allies and into the apartments etc. Well I beat that mission and then yeah I loaded up my game and...nothing!...the exact problem!..it wont load my game ever!...I was thinking of just starting over again..deleting my saved game and restarted..but why bother?..Woudlnt it just do it again? And yes you can bet your ass I was useing codes. I always do for all my games. And yes I save with codes on...big deal!..codes should not effect a saved game in this way. Consideroing the game is meant to have codes in it. Either way its nice to see other people having my issue. The goddamn thing wont load, it goes through the extremly long artwork loading then it goes to the loading "mission name" thing and music plays then stops and it wont stop loading. I left it loading for like eight eight minutes and nothing happend. I got a 60 gig Ps3, and no the lock ups and feezes that everyone got from the movie scenes did not happen to me at all. Yes, I was very lucky. But I played through for like 3 days with no issues then this happens!...out of nowhere. If I start over...it'd better not f*cking do this sh*t again..if it does then I'm calling Rockstar..and I'm going to bitch to them big time!..Because its a brand new game I payed 68 dollars for this bullsh*t and I shouldnt be seeing issues with it at all. GTA Life Posted May 3, 2008 Share Posted May 3, 2008 It has nothing to do with internet what so ever. First of all I got no internet connections hooked up to it. My internet in mine is wireless. So well I COULD just disconnect my internet cords from my computer that I'm running off of and see what happens but I highly doubt anything will happen. EA Games (Australia) sold me the PS3 and GTA IV as a bundle. When I told them about this exact issue they offerred me a another GTA IV bundle, which I declined. They then offerred my a GT5 bundle but the box was damaged so I declined that too. Now I'm told there are no stand alone PS3 anywhere in Australia, they're all GTA IV!!!!!!! So I actually have no proof that its the game. But considering someone else had my issue I guess it is the game. It's just apart of my terrible luck I possess.
