gamesnooper
Hey Guys, If you disconnect the internet or turn it off in settings before loading your game then it should load up just fine. This is a fix for single player only, if you're wanting to play multiplayer then keep it on but you may run into freezes if the servers are down or acting up. NoLukLikeBadLuk
I had freezing problems (360). I finished one of the early missions and was going to steal a car for Bruicie. Well on the way the game froze. Turned it off, game loaded and got to my safe house but soon as I left it the game froze. I turned it off and back on a few more times and same thing always happened. Take two three steps out of my safe house and BAM frozen. Well I have had a minor fix. Before I left my safehouse I opened the menu and loaded another game save, let it load and ran out into Liberty City. And tada...no freezing. After a while of playing I figured I'd load my current game save to see if the problem was there. Loaded the game and it worked perfectly. I'm no techie but I guess there's some problem with the initial loading of the game. If you can get into the game and reload it it might just run smoothly. Did for me. But that's purely a guess of mine. Probably miles away from the actual problem but I guess any bit of information can help. Hope it does. Edit: Oh and about playing offline. I don't have my 360 hooked up to the internet at all and still had freezing problems with GTA IV. I installed gta again, and disconnected from psn and the game works fine. Dammit what´s going on. also i have a little concern about my fans turning on every 15 minutes or something, it doesnt happens with any other games. And when i mean turning on i mean in a loudy way. pepperhand
Damn this playstation network problem... for me too, I had problem this morning loading my saved game. It just stalled on the black loading screen. Tried it at least 4 times. Anyway, I then disabled my network, where it loaded instantly. Please, try that first before deleting your save files... that would break my heart if I had to do that! Sorry amigos. MSummers
I registered an account just to say "Thanks". I had two savegames and neither one would load, they would hang after the splash screen. Logging out of the PS network and unplugging my ethernet cable fixed the problem immediately.
