some questions about the xbox360

Hey. I had some questions about the xbox360 before I purchase it and gta iv soon.

 

1. Do you need to pay to receive the DLC whenever it is released, or can you get it for free without having the paid membership? Also, what can you access on the xbox live as a free user?

2.And if R* released a patch to solve some of the issues, could I get it for free aswell, as long as I have an internet connection without the gold paid membership or whatever it is called?

3. Is it likely I will encounter a RROD, or any graphical problem after playing this game? I would assume since it is new, and won't have any game running besides gtaIv that it won't be a problem right?
