visigoth
For those of you whose PS3 stopped reading any disks after trying to play GTA4 try a full format not a quick one. It takes 3 hrs and 30 mins but it does a restore and my ps3 works now, it happened twice so far. Not touching gta4 till patch comes out. No need to send ps3 out for repairs. I notice that when ps3 will stop reading disks it also at same time won't recognize any controllers- hope this helps Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/339305-ps3-wont-work/ Share on other sites

NinjaJones
Wouldnt that make it inoperable though? Like delete EVERYTHING? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/339305-ps3-wont-work/?do=findComment&comment=1058003265 Share on other sites
mupet0000
Wouldnt that make it inoperable though? Like delete EVERYTHING? No. Reformatting the hard drive will delete your data, the PS3 OS is stored on a flash chip. pepperhand
Man what a bummer. Well I just had the same problem this morning... where the game simply would not load my mission from the start screen. But it worked as soon as I disabled my network connection, so problem solved for my situation. Anyone who has a similar case give that a try. If not... talk sweetly to your black beauty... stroke her.
