lobster martin
In terms of GTA4 and how it runs on each console, there's no definitive reason to get it on one platform over the other. Think about what other games you want. If you like 360 titles, get a 360; Halo, etc. If you like PS3 titles, get a PS3. Metal Gear, etc. PS3 has a free online system, 360 has a subscription one that's a bit better. Or look at it by price, the 360 is cheaper. Although, having said that, when you consider the price of adding the hard drive, and the wireless addon, it's not really much cheaper than a PS3 at all. Daxmaniac23
i need help i dont if i should get a ps3 and a gta4 or a 360 and gta4 tell what you think My advice to you is to get Xbox 360, i have a PS3 and a sh*t expensive sony bravia tv and the sh*t is jagged and blurry as hell, have tried all different settings on the consol and the tv but it just isnt helping, and no i am not nagging about the game but it is just sh*t on a ps3 period. doa kappatango
For GTA IV there are more problems with the game on the PS3. The 360 has had some reports of freezing, but a big majority on the PS3. I play on 360, have not had one freeze yet....20+ hours under my belt, 15 online
RollsRoyceD
Heard ps3 owners are the ones with the majority of the problems running IV. It comes with a 20gb hard drive already. I bought my system used off craigslist still under warranty and it has worked flawless. Got it for $200 with the original box and everything that comes with it, plus $20 down on a reserved copy of GTA IV.. So i was pretty damn stoked. doa kappatango
PS3 has better graphics and less glitches playing GTA IV. That is untrue, check the poll on this forum HERE nearly 50% of PS3 owners who voted have had problems, with the 360 being way less.
Fnorg
The game looks better on the Xbox than on the PS3 (personal opinon), and doesn't seem to freeze as much. Plus, the Xbox is getting DLC, but bear in mind that the PS3 has better hardward and doesn't melt like the Xbox. Check these pictures out. The PS3 seems to have more color, too yellow if you ask me. Trund
PS3 has better graphics and less glitches playing GTA IV. You gotta be kidding me right? lolz, what kind of ps3 have you been playing? The guaranteed jaggedproof blurfree version? Funny thing is that the Xbox has the same amount of jaggies, if not even more, and they both have the same amount of blur effect. I'd say the pop-in is a deciding factor, and apparently the 360 has far worse of them than the PS3. Got to agree though that the PS3 has the freezing problem, but I'm sure they gonna patch that soon. On the other side, I heard of so many Xbox users that encountered their Xbox to scratch the GTA4 disc to death, not to mention the fail rate of the 360 (and yes, the new ones still have the RRoD problem, just not as often anymore). So yeah, decide on your own.

RollsRoyceD
Its not a big enough difference to even matter. Just go with the more reliable system. Whichever way you go though, Id advise you pay for a 2 year warranty.. It seems like the 60gb ps3's are the ones with the majority of the problems.. The Seth
PS3 is basically a Blue-Ray player. It has more potential than XBOX 360. They're gonna have a new XBOX soon anyways. The graphics difference is more dependent on the monitor you're using. I also remember something like XBOXs have higher percentage of getting broken than PS3. I'd go with PS anytime. Goliver24
Our opinions on this site are really pointless. People with the 360 are going to say get an xbox and the people with a playstation are going to be saying get the PS3, anyways here's the way i look at it. If you want halo, bioshock, etc. and a wonderful online experience go with the 360, if you want to play Grand Trismo, Metal Gear Solid, a blue ray player, but not as good of an online time get the PS3, I think PS3 will eventually get there online system up to par with the xbox, but the question is how long is it going to take for it to happen. GTA is having many problems including the jaggies and frame rate issues you mentioned on BOTH consoles...so don't use that as a base for which console to get. As ha been said MANY times PS3 has warmer colors and less anti aliasing issues yet runs at 630P and 360 has more vivid colors yet can't be installed. It's a matter of opinion, really.. DDR Midian
I wish everyone would stop bringing up the warmer colours thing. Both the games settings and your TVs/monitors have brightness/contrast/saturation adjustments. Set it how you like.
Abu Musaab
The PS3 release has been a complete disaster. Get the Xbox. *prepares flame-retardant suit* Actually, the differences are minimal, so get the one your friends are getting so you can play with them. If you have no friends, just get the Xbox one...the multiplayer is better.

Abu Musaab
you can fix this on the ingame display settings, and make it the same as the xbox if you want So the Xbox looks better from the start, and if you want the ps3 version to look nice, you will have to do some tweaking. If you ps3 people tweak yours to try to make yours as good as the xbox one, we xboxers will tweak ours to make it better than that. /immaturity off
CrazeLaze
Xbox, Good online (But you pay for it.), Cheap, DLC, Less freezing problems. Playstation, Slighty good graphics, sh*t online, More realible. (Wont break down on you à la RRoD) Actually, the differences are minimal, so get the one your friends are getting so you can play with them. Megalon
LOL @ the people defending the PS3 version here.... I have several friends who work at Rockstar North here in Edinburgh and they've all confirmed that the PS3 is definitely the poorer of the two versions. The xbox version was finished and behaving in a playable state for some time, all the extra time was basically a battle to make the ps3 one even playable. Frame rate issues, texture memory problems, resolution problems etc etc The PS3 version has no antialiasing and it also does NOT run in true HD - LOL - it's like 630 or 640p or something, kinda like Halo 3 on the xbox360 (which also looks terrible and jaggy) The 360 version features anti-aliasing, runs in FULL 720p not some stretched lower res, plays smoother and also features one or two unlockable extras (on shipping copies, I ain't talking DLC) that could not be fitted into the PS3 version as they couldn't juggle the memory to allow these extra things in the game. I think it's something as simple as extra voices for sat-nav or different characters/voices available either in multiplayer or single player - either way, out the box the 360 version has more content. Personally, although this above stuff may sound like I am, I ain't a fanboy of either system. What I have said above is not conjecture, it is basic fact straight from the horses mouth. With regards to my interest in the PS3 - I'd buy one like a shot if there were any good games for it, maybe when MGS comes I will think again. In the meantime, I'm happy with my 360 and Wii - at least there's a few great games for both those systems. Hopefully this should put the issue to rest... xer0er
I'm Dan Houser. We purposely made the PS3 version with more jags and worse graphics overall. We had a accident in the office with a couple of PS3s.. Something I never want to talk about.
RONIN1191
Dude, seriously- it doesn't matter. Pick one and get the game...you won't be sorry either way. I have a 360 and am loving this game...apart from some graphics issues (which don't appear to bother everyone, certainly not me) the game is awesome; closest thing to a living, breathing world of any GTA to date. So full, infact, of f*cking liars and little dickheads that no-one even believes the truth when it's stuck under their f*cking faces. Your whole post is a bunch of CRAP, big CRAP, let me say it again. C R A P. Posts from people like you seriously make me want to throw the laptop out of the window. FIRST, the delay was caused because of the Multiplayer, NOT because of the PS3. SECOND, how come the Anti Aliasing is sh*t on BOTH systems, but the PS3 version still has some jaggies less? THIRD, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT MEMORY? THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT! You are a damn freaking fanboy, geez. This is like the worst fanboy post I have seen in the last weeks.
