paranoid.pj
Ok so here's what happened when I got home for lunch: I first set the slider on my cables to HDTV (remember, I have a SD set) - that took away all visuals, just a black screen with the sound coming from the speakers. So then I slid it back and turned the Xbox back on, went to my cell phone's options menu. Two options are displayed at a time, leading me to believe that the large text size is turned on by default and you can't turn it off for SD sets. The options are as follows: Ringtype, Ringtone, Keypad Tone and Turn Sleep Mode On. When I press down again after the Turn Sleep Mode On option, it goes back to Ringtype. So I think we've got this one nailed down.
GOTHAM_AD
The option is there, very early on to change your text size. I have a 360 and am only 8.25% thru and was able to change that setting. I'm quite sure I haven't received a phone upgrade yet this early in the game.
Geretio
Are you sure you have scrolled all the way down the options? That is with the D-PAD, not the analogue stick...
Meadsy4742
Well my monitor is NEARLY a HD resolution - and I still get the option to change text size LOL! Btw - you CAN change your resolution through the XBOX options - which is probably why the game knows what resolution its running on! Knowing what TV would be impossible atm! So, basically, it has something to do with resolution. If you're on an HD set and you can't see it, you'll be able to change the size, if you're on an SD set and you can't see it, move closer to the screen! beddess
one guess is that it might depend on the resolution you are using? They might've figured not everyone would need the option? at any rate I do have the option, running on 360 @ 1080p
Bboighst48
bunch of god damn ignorant idiots in this thread. I too do not have this option on my PS3 version.. I looked it up and it all has to do with the size of your TV. It won't show up on certain TV's... period...

Simy_vercetti
To be honest i dont think we have figured out the problem, i cant see how r* could have anticipated this at all. the only thing i can think of is that if teh resolution is lower then it might not show up the full menu? anythoughts Edited May 3, 2008 by Simy_vercetti

Talon2000uk
Ok I'll spell it out one more time. This option is from HD users only. If your Xbox is set to a HD rez, ie 720p and above the option will show. If you are playing on 480p you will not get the option. The reason for this is that if you play on an SD TV the interface on screen is bigger because of your low resolution. You don't need the option to make the txt bigger. The game detects what rez you are running at and gives you the option, or not, depending if you are in HD or SD. I don't think I can make it any simpler that that. I don't have a PS3 but I would assume its the same on that console. For those with the option, who don't believe those saying they don't have it exit the game, go to your console display option and set your rez to 480p, its under display on the system settings. When you go back into the game the option for large text isn't their anymore.
