I wanted to say the same thing to some effect but I was waiting until I could play the game more than I have so far. My disc isn't working *cough* but I have had a chance to play the game at a buddy's house a few times so I was already starting to notice the same things after five good nights of playing. Maybe things will look better in the end but for the most part the statements (or opinions) made by these two posters and others are generally meant as constructive criticism (and maybe some venting) so if you are going to participate on a board like this then you're going to see it... like it or not. Rag Posted May 3, 2008 Share Posted May 3, 2008 (edited) I dont think if R* puts certain things in a game then they WILL HAVE TO BE in the next game too, like someone earlier said, SA was the life of gangs and violence, hence the gang wars etc. And it was based in the 90s, IV's in 2007-8. IV is like III, it was Liberty City and thats it, for the other fun R* made Vice and SA, which we all would have to wait, but Liberty City has always been a concrete jungle, the subways, the skyscrapers, so nothing new to find that you don't have jetpacks or gangwars here (which were never in LC before anyways). IV is not just about realism, its just how Liberty City was and is! Although considering its based on NY, I wouldnt have minded a nice condo in a high rise in the downtown area. IGN 10/10 ......to some of us GTA's were half spent messing around and i feel like u cant in this one ..... 9/10 for me... anyone else think this game needs its fun back? since when is a 9/10 f*cked up. you do love the game though its f*cked up, wow. hypocrit. I wouldn't have expected the purchasing of houses or for Niko to even have enough money to customise a car. I like... no love this game... even if you don't yup cuz CG was balling rich when he got outta that flight right....? WHAT? when CJ from san andreas (previous post said CG sorry) started off he was poor too then he made enough money to custimize why cant niko make enough to do it too? Because it's unrealistic for an immigrant (even CJ) to become a multi-millionaire within a month. I mean... he got like $500 to go drinking at the bar $10,000 to shoot some gang member... everything was just too rewarding. I wouldn't really expect an illegal Russian immigrant to be loaded with $2,000,000 after a month of being here. tgordon2191 Posted May 3, 2008 Share Posted May 3, 2008 Yea my take on it is this: I never like the gym, Planes would be stupid because where would you land them and REALISTICALLY you cant sneak into an airport and steal a plane without a super high wanted level!, Car modification would be good IF it wouldn't disappear when you go down the street or start some missions after you spend thousands on it. The only thing I miss are the safehouse garages that heal your cars. Someone PLEASE explain how this isn't better than SA because I had bought GTA the trilogy and playing SA right after you play GTAIV is not very fun. GTA4 can't make everyone happy but can definitely make those who value quality happy. San Andreas has lots of stuff to do but what's the point? It makes Niko look less like a character and more like some oddball doing extremely random stuff that only oddballs do in a city like Liberty City. I like just enough stuff to do that won't damage the quality of the game. Much like the same way with money in real life. My take is, I dont think it's appropriate to just copy and paste what we had in SA (and i don't think some of others who have criticized meant that either), but IV could definitely have more variety in it. However dating Roman and Michelle brings all the dating fun of SA back... HA! The upside is you have a better idea of what they like, but it puts a serious crimp on free roam, police chases, hooker having, good times. Your complaint is nothing new here. Don't create a new topic for it if you haven't searched. It is my opinion that once they enable Custom Music and fix the freeze issues, people will be happier, but it would have also been a nice idea to add a feature to change under/over steering with cars.
