SlappingOysters
Hi Guys, For those who are interested, a feature has just gone up at gameplayer with a host of new information about Volition's other big game... as in not Saints Row 2. Enjoy!
unopescio
As long as its better than redfaction2, f*ck they screwed that game up. I loved the original though. On a side note, whats with company's giving games retarded names instead of something simple like RedFaction3? adding ":blah blah" just makes it seem like a repackaged piece of crap. Mafia Righthand_Man
Red Faction 2 sucked ass. I totally loved multiplayer on the original and the story was pretty decent. There was this one multiplayer level that kicked ass but I can't remember what it was called. It was this office building and you could shoot through to the roof and get a good sniping ledge. pizza guy
Well, I'm worried about red faction 3. The developers have said it's an open ended world. and the whole point of the red faction series was the geomod destruction system, allowing you to create your own paths, not have an area to drive round... Big Slow
Well, I'm worried about red faction 3. The developers have said it's an open ended world. and the whole point of the red faction series was the geomod destruction system, allowing you to create your own paths, not have an area to drive round... It may be open-world, but according to what has been previewed in several game magazines, it's going to be completely destructible, leaving destruction a very viable source of strategy. Red Faction 1 was indeed very original in it's use of the Geomod Destruction System, but only when you had enough explosives to create said pathways. I can't remember how many times I would be trying to make my way into another corridor, just to run out of explosives halfway into my makeshift mine shaft. With the new system, the programmers have actually had to study architecture to see how a building works, and how it falls. Now, it does remain to be seen how this system will be applied realistically, I mean, yes it would be fun to take out every enemy stronghold by placing some C4 on every support pylon and watching it crash to the ground, but that doesn't make for very good plot advancement if you don't take the time to do the mission like any other game. tuff_luv_capo
The destruction elements surpass any I've ever read about. The devs had to learn how to actually build building because the weight system of every brick and pole was real-time, and when put into realistic gravity, would fall.
